If you looks closely at Gade's grip when he's netting (esp backhand), he only holds the handle by his fingers (not the palm). Would this be the key in his versatility and array of deceptive shots? Do all top players hold the raquet that loosely when netting?

 

I notice that from alot of players doing net shot

 

if you watch the second side of the Revolution cup Marleve Mainaky does similar shot to Gade's, though I found marleve's to be a faster shot as he takes it earlier.

i did the gade shot about 1 month ago in my game against alameda high (i play for the Hercules High Team). my opponent had nothing to do other than look down and say nice. i did it on his serve. simply amazing.
