That's Peter Gade doing the trickshot. It's already been on this forum before though, search for Peter Gade's trickshot or something like that. But to do that on matchpoint nontheless ... Awesome!
The guy who did the trick is (I think you know him already) Peter Gade. The other one is Pullela Gopichand of India. The match was in the Final of the 2001 Copenhagen Masters.
Haha, good timing kusmanto Here's the old thread: http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8636&highlight=trick
it looks like that shot won him the match. he must of had some balls to play that shot on match point
woudln't work twice though...cuz gopi was pretty close to getting it...the 2nd time, the second gopi sees peter not hitting a net shot he could jump back to the middle and anticipate anything...at this point, peter would be forced to follow-through with the same trick that won't work, or do a lift and get smashed at...
It was Gopichand? And all this time I thought it was an asian guy! (Must be my colors or something....) Now its obvious it was him -_- Nonetheless, I've only tried that shot once, and it went out, and my friend thought it was stupid because I didn't conceal it. Might as well just make a late cross court shot. Fun tricks though...it's hard!!!
what a great way to win a match its not that hard at all to perform technically it just has to be in the right spot or you simply dont have any chance of pulling it off. i tried practicing it a bit a few times after seeing the clip ... takes awhile to figure out but once you start making contact with the shuttle its pretty simple dont think i will ever be good enough to rely on it in a game though
Something else about that shot Something else I noticed about this cross court net shot by Peter Gade: it seems to be very accurate as far as barely above the tape. Some net shots tumble an inch or so above the net as they go across...thus they can sometimes be intercepted for a quick flick winner. And some shots end up not being close to the net as far as depth when they go cross court. They sometimes seem to come away from the net a good 6 plus inches. This one seems to be pretty accurate all around, both in height and distance. Sometimes my net shots aren't that good, even when I get to the shuttle early and do a standard, regular, basic cross court. Cory
Best return from Peter Gade Greetings. I'm quite new here - a returning member. I felt that I should at least contribute something here. However, I don't have much to contribute. I recently found this video. I feel that this is the best net return that I've ever seen! Enjoy! Please provide some feedback after downloading. Thanks Click here to download
At first look my eyes did n't catch it,but in the replay i could make out the trick shot.yes, definitely one of the best returns i have seen.Good clip mate.
LOL. What was your first reaction when you noticed that shot ? As for me, I was quite astonished! @Pasch, are you sure ? Can you please try again because Dan was able to download it.
Same here..... At first I was wondering what was so special about the shot, little did i know about the flick (a cheeky one at that ) Anyway, here's a reseed http://s39.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=3UL5T2WWDCU4D02MMA57ZGBOYQ
