MP99 is not a beginner/mid player's racquet. Cab 20 is a good all around racquet if you don't know what to get.
But the Cab 20 in 2U is heaaavy. It may not feel like it because it's more balanced but it takes a bit hit on defense.
Totally agree with you. However, ch version might have 3U? Volcom might have a 3U? They get more choices there in Asia.
i know its a mock on our panda... but imagine if our panda is weak, what will most of the BCF ppl(if not all) would become... lol
i bought some 2U cab25 and strung one, with PG65. Wow, it reminds me what i had miss out from using isometric - the explosiveness ( i have a UG3 cab20 in storage). For those new player who jump right into isometric, u should at least tryout a cab to see if u like it.
Interesting you said that Cooler, as I just did that recently My first racquet was the ISO Tour 800, and all the other racquets I own, until recently, were all ISO racquets. Then I bought CAB30MS 3UG5, paired with BG80. Needless to say, when it hits right, it feels superb! There's a certain brilliance to the shots. Now just need to spend time to get used to it!
Welcome to the cab30ms family. When i hold cab30ms, i feel it's just like part of my arm. Can't play well without it nowdays.
very interesting topic~ I used to be able to generate a lot of power with oval shaped racquets namely with the cab23 and cab20MS. I'll admit that the power was easier to generate and more forgiving as well. I've since then pretty much swapped over to iso-frame and although the power is slightly less at first and shots are less forgiving, it was more controllable when I first started using them. Since then, my timing has changed and the power is around the same as those oval shaped racquets. I recently bought another cab23 and thought I could relive those old power days but ended selling it back out~ I guess I'm used to stiffer and iso racquets now
It is not only Yonex cab racquets-it applies to all oval shaped frame racquets. The reason is due to the oval's native rebound/flex frame property, which is different and better than an iso shaped frame's. That is if you string it properly without any distortion. Also the stringing practices for distortionless stringing are different for iso versus oval racquets.
Thanks I still need to get used to it, unfortunately, as I'm still used to NS9K for now.. but whoa... feels great nonetheless
wow, this is an old thread getting rejuvenated The whole idea of ISOmetric head-shapes is to increase the sweet-spot! However given that you hit the sweetspot (which is smaller) on a cab-racket, the power (given everything else equal) should most likely be greater.. However, experience has shown that the bigger sweetspot is a highly beneficial property (You can't expect all shots to be "perfect" on-the-small-sweetspot when stressed playing a very skilled opponent), and therefore the "classic" head-shape are getting more and more of a novelty these days both amongst pro players and manufacturers.. /Twobeer
congrats to you and Hagane for joining the CAB30 family. I share the same thoughts with LB on how much the CAB30 suits our playing style. (I have yet to play with/against LB, but am looking forward to it one day)
good observation but wrong conclusion. Reason being that u have way way more models of iso to choose from to fit your game versus a few cab available these day, plus what cab available for sales have generally similar flex/balance characteric. Ex: cab 20,21,23,25,30 are more or less, balanced weight, not much difference in stiffness either. If yonex make cab equivalent of AT and NS series, i'm sure cab can give u the power like the AT and NS too. hmmm, how about cab 800 DE/OF cab 900 T/P cab 9000 S/X
