That's great achievements of MAS Juniors.. They even got the better results compare with all their seniors.. Can u post the QF results here?
Finals lineup! Ok, here's the latest update: BS Finals Arif [MAS] vs. Senatria [SGS] GS Finals Maria Febe Kusumastuti [Djarum] vs. Febby Angguni [Djarum] BD Finals All MAS finals... Don't know the details...
Febe vs. Febby... Febe vs. Febby I think Febe will win... But I heard she didn't play very well when she defeated Vivian Hoo [MAS]. Febby, on the other hand was in good form, as she beat her clubmate, Vivi.
Congratulations to all the winners.Hopefully, they'll keep on improving.I'm really looking forward to the World Junior Championships.
Jakarta Post article: full finals results... RI wins girls' singles, Malaysia takes rest Malaysia emerged as the best team at the 2007 Milo Junior Indonesia Open badminton championships after nearly making a clean sweep in Sunday's final matches, leaving just one title to host Indonesia. The seventh annual tournament, offering US$11,000 in prize money, was participated in by around 400 shuttlers from 10 countries. Malaysia's boys singles top seed Mohd. Arif Abdul Latif was too powerful for SGS Bandung shuttler Senatria, winning 21-14, 21-12. The neighboring country set up all-Malaysian finals in the doubles sectors, grabbing all the three titles. Top seeds mixed doubles Khim Wah Lim and Hui Lin NG defeated Wei Shem Goh and Sannatasah Saniru 21-16, 21-13. In the boys doubles, Chun Hee Mak and Wah Khim Lim ousted Jian Guo Ong and Weis Shem Goh 21-14, 21-13. Girls doubles Hui Lin NG and Liu Ying Goh won over Vivian Kah Mun Hoo and Jing Yi Tee 21-12, 21-8. The absence of Asian powerhouses China and South Korea was an advantage for Malaysia. "I could read his playing," Arif commented on his final match, adding that the absence of the Chinese and Koreans shuttlers had reduced the competitiveness of the event. Malaysian coach Mohd. Saleh agreed. "The presence of the Chinese and Koreans players would bring different results here." "However, our young players have learned a lot of lessons here especially with the good results." Despite the absence, team manager How Kim Tho praised Arif's victory and expressed his optimism on the bright future of the young player. Indonesia grabbed the remaining title in the girls singles with the sole national training camp player Febby Angguni upsetting top seed Maria Febe Kusumastuti 21-15, 18-21, 27-25. -- JP Febby Angguni
Arif apparently is only 170cm... waaahhh too difficult laaahhh... Later on when he faces the 180cm plus opponents, his life will be very very difficult...
But Arent LCW also looks short compare with players like from CHN : LD/BCL & European players? If one who can have good footwork , Jumps higher while smash & excellent defense.. Height wont be a significant problem for them..
Liem Swie King too... he won the Adult National Championship when he was 17. Got an Asian Games Bronze when he was 18 [in 1974], then he reached the All England Final when he was 20 [in 1976]... Later on, he won All England in 1978, 1979, and 1981. Ardy Wiranata... reached the 1989 World Championship final when he was 19... Lost to Yang Yang. But a valiant and promising effort! Later on, in 1991 he won the All England MS. Got Olympic silver in 1992, won Indonesia Open 6 times.... [a record that was equaled only by Taufik last year]. Note: it has been around 10 years since Taufik reached the All England MS final at 17 years old. He has not won it yet... unfortunately... He won everything else, though... Lin Dan just need to win the Olympic title to complete his throphy room...
Not really, Lin Dan needs an Olympic title (next year) AND another Asian Games individual gold (in 2010, Guangzhou) to complete his title collection.
I don't think his height is a disadvantage for Arif. His tactical skills are good and have you seen him play against Chen Long? Chen Long is like his name....very tall and long.Arif has beaten him before and lost narrowly in the individual event.
