just noticed also that the new carlton ranges have appeared on pwp.com.
they're a whole £1 cheaper than central sports prices...

wonder if they'll have similar deals to the forza rackets - you can get three Titanium 10CF's for £149.99

    how cheap!!! ?

    it appears so :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

but does this little quote from pwp.com make any sense

'Rackets will be despatched on the next day delivery service free of charge approximately 2 working days after they are ordered'

also - after analysing the poor descriptions on centralsports - can anybody confirm that the powerblade range does actually have the airblade head? as well as being isometric - if so there can't be any difference between them and the rasmussen's apart from the the rasmussen being classic shape and the powerblades being iso... i'd be a bit disappointed if the powerblades weren't airblade + iso

hmmm... now the final decision - lite / superlite....

I just phoned them. They're ordering them from their supplier on request. They said if I ordered today I'd have it before the end of next week for sure.

Hold me back, I'm about to go into debt.

Out of those two get the lite. I've never liked the superlites from the past 2 releases. Why don't you want the tour?

"shaft": > rasmussen tour: same shaft as the airblade rackets ( lite 03, ab 2000, rasmussen = normal ( round) shaft, not like the as 1)

sorry - what i was getting at was they send the goods out on a next day delivery service - but only after waiting 2 days after you've ordered it - so would never actually get the good the day after you ordered...

sounds like a on to me..

The Airblade head is the aerodynamic one - if you compare the powerflo (not powerblade) with the airblade heads you see and feel the difference thru the air. i'm hoping the powerblades will be a combination of the powerflo and airblade racquets, since the powerflo's were a good racquet when i started playing years ago - the one piece (no built in t-joint) construction made it very low torsion so you got a good solid hit, if they've combined this with the aerodynamics of the airblade head and the isoframe shape to increase the sweet spot, this racquet could be a world beater - nathan robertson and anthony clark are bound to be getting their hands on them at some point..

hi all, got the following from Nathan Roberston on the badders.com site (UK badminton forum) - hope it convinces you to buy one..

    Hi all,
I use the new (Peter)Rasmussen Tour. Very nice racket but shame they decided to name the range after a ex-world champion who hasn't really played in the last 3 years!! Only been using it for just over a month but it did an pretty good job at the europeans so I guess I'll keep with them. As far as the rumours go, carlton will continue to make rackets end of story!
p.s. Go out and buy one tomorrow then I get more sponsor money.
    Thanks
    N.R

maybe that little ps explains why yonex racquets are so expensive.. imagine that they have to send a new model to everyone of their sponsored players..

i asked nathan more questions about what his racquet was prestrung with and to what tension.. got this reply..

"I've got no idea what they pre-string them at but I string mine at 31/32 pounds. Probably a bit tight for regular club players but high 20's will be good enough for most standard of players.
As for quality of rackets,, all top of the range quality brand rackets are roughly simular so as they say its not the racket its the PLAYER!!!"

just so people know - you can see how the new carlton powerblade and rasmussen tour racquets look by looking at the pictures of nathan robertson and anthony clark on Shabok's excellent pictures - nathan plays with the classic shaped rasmussen - anthony plays with the isoframe powerblade...

hope anthony can review the powerblade soon..

Check this picture out from Shabok's collection .... not very clear.. but I think that Powerblade IS Iso with the Airblade cross-section.

My Ti-10 has competition now. Looking forward to the Powerblade Tour. My lazy a$$ can't play with the classic oval heads anymore. Too pampered by Iso :p
