Ohhhh you said the dangerous magic words! A lot of the VRC group of BF members will be playing this Saturday night as usual. You're welcome to join us Watson, especially as you've yet to see the club(?). Perhaps you can get one of us to sign you in! I'm might be at the World Jrs. this Saturday too, but won't know if I can play that night until later towards the weekend.
Tonight I heard from some friends that teams China, Korea, Malaysia, and Indonesia have all been practising at ClearOne Badminton Centre in Richmond! Anyone who's been there for training earlier this week would have gotten a chance to watch them practise. My friends have all gotten a chance to watch the different teams practise and they are all amazed to say the least. "They ALL smash harder than anyone I've ever seen" (including our own national players), said one friend *LOL*.
I used to live near the arena! Hi, This January, my home was only half a block away from the arena. Now, I have to take a bus to go there. I was busy study for the whole year so I didn't realize the world cup is here. Now, it is too late for me to volunteer for it. Winex gave a direction to get to the place. There is an alternated transit path. If you are living close to a skytrain station, you can go to the 22nd skytrain station to catch the #410 bus. #410 bus takes you directly to Richmond and also in front of it!! When the #410 bus pass the Richmond Mall, tell the bus driver that you want to go to the Brighouse library at Minoru Blvd. There is a bus stop in front of the library where you can get off (the library has a tiny park in front of it so you still have to walk to it.) The arena is next to the Brighouse library. The sport facilities, parking lots, and the library are in the same place. I am going to buy a ticket for Friday (China vs Malaysia, Japan vs Korea) tomorrow (Oct 20th). Hope to see you on the game days. From, Ted.
Hey Watson, If you're incline for a game after watching the Jrs., why not join us at VRC afterwards? I could sign you in. Ming
Oh I forgot to mention, Yoo Yong Sung and Lee Dong Soo are also here as part of Team Korea. And Chen Qi Qiu (spelling?) is here as part of Team China. Apparently the Chinese team hasn't brought too many coaches or trainers, while the Korean team has at least five or so. At least that's what my friend noticed at ClearOne.

Oh please. I'm guarding granola bars for god sakes hahah..... and juice! hhaha..... In any case, shame on you for such evil thoughts cooler.
Tourney was good today!! Great boys doubles....fast action. The boys single player from China anhilated his two opponents. Funny to hear the asian players grunt like monkeys before every rally!! Saw a player from Slovakia spaz at female line judge because she didn't know the difference between service and back line...he got the point after the referee was called in to figure things out. Lots of players slipping as condensation is coming from ice. I would like to play badminton if anyone is planning....after all, watching it for 10 days and not playing is going to be painful. Anyone know where I could play until the 29th?
anyone know if I can purchase the tickets on the day say at the front door or we I need to preorder it somewhere?
Panhandle, You should be able to play at the VRC with the rest of VRC-BF'ers and of course, Sunday at Collingwood and at Anderson (in the evening) where I will be playing. Anderson also has Tues/Thurs sessions and runs from 6:30pm to almost 10pm. I believe the VRC-BF'ers also play on Wed. I will hopefully see you tomorrow evening at the event and probably on Sat/Sun since I'm scheduled to be on.
