For me I love playing front, I thinks it's much more dynamic than back and you need quick reactions plus I love winning whole rallies by myself at the front and sending opponents scrambling allover the court
^Do you have to be if you love playing front? Personally, front is my preferred position in doubles, not that back is bad, I just like pouncing on low returns and such.
Definitely front for me. I'm not the most powerful of players; so it makes sense Same for me. It's fun, right?
I usually stick front since I have faster reaction and better control than my partner. Works well since he's better than me at smashing.
It really depends for me, if I'm having a good day and everything clicks, I like the back, if it's a day where nothing "works" for me, I'd rather be in the front. It also depends on the who's the stronger hitting partner.
Funnily enough I weightlift so I look more like a power player, I like playing backs as well but playing front is more fun, watching you opponents scrambling to get back shots is entertaining
even though I have a big and tall build, but I am more of a front guy I can smash (and I do love to be at the back from time to time) but I have a good sense of which shot I can intercept and good reaction / reflex to make it happens. usually any low clear / bad shots will not go unpunished when I play at the front. but I am not good with net shots though..
Looking for players in the East : 2 Courts are booked tonight at Pasir Ris Sport Hall ( 9th March), 7-9pm. We are also a regular Weekend group. Beginner to Intermediate. Sms 9475 6748
I enjoy both. I hate playing with 'back court' players that refuse to pressure the net or rotate properly. I'm there to play badminton not be your 'smash support system'. Of course I know there is a difference between people that don't know better and those that do it on purpose...
front feels faster especially when you get net rallies and stuff like that. Also i kinda feel front has more options in what you can do with the shuttle. Back's alright too- fun when smashing . Well, hardly and answer but 50/50
I prefer front/mid court, because it's easier to put away loose shots and add pressure on opponents. But if I have to play the back court, I don't mind. It usually happens if I am the stronger partner. As I don't smash well, I will usually prefer to drop and clear to put pressure and then coming up to kill off loose shots (assuming I'm the stronger partner).
I would like to play both - currently, I prefer to play the back because the people who play in the back don't understand if I'm in the front - hit the Freaking bird down!!!!
i'm too muscular for badminton, so i'm naturally slow, but i love playing in the front. one i do like putting my opponents out of position, and two because i want to have the last shot!
I know what you mean 1: do low serve 2: opponents lift it 3: partner does a weak clear while not even under pressure 4: clear goes to half court 5: opponents smash it 6: Point lost I have seen this way too many times, I had the pleasure of playing with some good doubles players recently who knew the proper playing style, no one hit a clear if they weren't under pressure, lots of smashes and a fast and furious game that was very tight 24-22 in the third set, one of the best matches and most fun I've had playing badminton It's a great experience to be able to play with good players
