Too bad this Greysia/Kevin seems have no plan whatsoever. Just tried some fancy shots to retrieve the shuttle.
When the score reaches 20-16, I've a feeling of deja vu but WYH didn't allow it to happen this time and duly wrap the match, 21-16.
Another casuality again. This time Go Ah Ra / Yoo Hae Won lose to Kamilla / Christina in the first set 15-21. So I guess I can predict the score of this match already. The Danish pair will surely win. Anybody with a different opinion here?
i think mads conrad and mads kolding are gonna be a force to reckon with in the future. mads kolding has a problem handling his nerves in tight situations, but looks like he's getting used to winning big games.
Okay as predicted Christinna / Kamilla win the match 21-15, 21-18. Korea lost again. Its okay I already know the Koreans won't win. Any opinion for this match?
For the first time in 5 encounters, Sun Yu wins a set against Li Xuerui, and rather comfortably 21-13
I won't be totally surprised if Sun Yu beats LXR whose fitness is suspect, even yesterday against Zhang BW she lost a string of points suddenly in G2, and before coming here LYB already expressed doubts about her form and fitness due to her recent long injury layoff.
How did Hsu Jen Hao lose so miserably with that kind of score in two sets, players of his calibre aren't supposed to do that at such a high level tournament. To suffer one set in single low digit score is not too unusual - it has happened to a number of players here, eg Akane Y and Jindapon - but two sets, one 7 and the other 9 points is almost unheard of. I actually watched the first set before switching to the Boonsak vs JOJ match, and didn't notice anything wrong with HJH, no apparent sign of injury or suchlike, he appeared to be moving well.
Sorry. Did'nt get the chance to watch their game. But from the score it does not look like a pushover (Koreans). The Danes are experience players and use their height to advantage and their ability to adapt constantly during play give them the edge. To take them, you need to adapt equally, have the ability to overdrive in your speed and constantly variate your play. This will take them out of their conmfort zone, disrupt their momentum and put them on the defense . It's easier said than done. Both partners need to do this together and it takes a lot out of your fitness and recovery. This is what Lee Yong Dae is able to do time and again when the play gets tight but he cannot do it alone. I have been doing this for more than three decades and as age is not in favor of me, I no longer can recover that quickly. The same goes for LYD and YYS.
Sun Yu has done everybody a big favour by eliminating LXR. Anyhow, even if LXR prevailed, her lack of match fitness would be a stumbling block hindering her progress here.
Are liu cheng and liu xin brothers and sisters? Ive always wonder that because they look alike so much
LXR's recent injury has exacted a heavy toll on her - last year she lost about 20K+ ranking points, and with this early exit, she stands to lose another substantial amount, 9350 pts to be exact. Worse to come, as she's not playing in the IND SS which will cost her 7800 pts. It must be hard on her, the stress and anxiety.
