Well, my hopes for Tago to bounce back are pretty much crushed seeing he'll most likely face LCW in the second qualifying round...
Really looking forward to see Lin Dan vs Chen Long especially when Lin Dan has tasted the blood now..could be an epic battle..
LD will have to work hard. First Jonathan Christie, then Son Wanho, then CL or WZM, then Momota, to finally meet again with Axelsen or JOJ.
Not sure if LD is still interested to win Korean open. If he does, then I think Chen Long or WZM will let him win. The ultimate goal is to get LD back to world no 2 so that he doesn't have to meet Chen Long apart from final. I think Chen Long is more concentrated on defending his Denmark open next month.
Can somebody tell me that is seeding done by the rankings as on seeding date, or do they use the rankings as on the M/Q release date?
After watching the way Axelsen play against LD in the Japan final, I guess Axlsn will be the tough contender in this Korea open. The way he plays reminds me of Morten Frost Hansen.
Horrible draw for CHN WS, all in the lower half with three of them bunched up in the 4th quadrant, namely LXR, Sun Yu and WSX. Again, not good for Chen Long and Lin Dan slated to meet in the QFs. A possible meeting between Axelsen and JOJ in the QF, followed by Lee CW in the semis looks very interesting. Imho, VA has surpassed JOJ, and should Viktor progress, I look forward to a LCW - VA clash.
Besides the Chen Long factor, the key question is , will Lin Dan have the stamina and endurance to last out the entire Korean Open, the second of the back-to-back SS tournaments ? Remember he still has quite a bit of work cut out for him in view of his recent poor form.
It is so nice of CL and/or WZM to let LD advances If I am WZM, I am pissed as hell. Who are you telling me to give LD my spot. I want to qualify for Olympic too, dammit.
Hi Indra Gunawan. Yes..I am Indra Listyo. Baik...I am in Jakarta. Indonesia once had a coach after your name....is that you?
Even WZM seriouly plays LD in the competition, the chance for him to win is not great anyway but he could waste LD limited stamina. Overall it is not beneficial for the chinese team. As for WZM I think the best thing to do is to help LD back to No.2 then the team will be more concentrate on him to get enough points for Rio' 16 as reserve.
Agreed. Not to forget that Japan Open is Yonex-sponsored while Korea Open is Victor. Must make Japan Open more attractive to watch while no obligation to Victor. And Korea is not a place that non-Korean likes to play, except when the points are counted towards Olympic qualification
The 25 years old Wang ZM has really slim chance to be qualified to Rio 2016 based on his current form, nothing impressive by 2008 World Junior Champion so far, he only won 1 SS title, CHN Masters back to 2013.
