Sure by all means. we can book an afternoon or so and take turns beating on the new guy....:D :D

Cappy - Let us know more details as you get settled, we can make the arrangements here in town. VRC would be okay, but the gym is getting real cold these days.... brrrr.... also depends on the distribution of BF'ers to VRC'ers. It could be more economical at Clearone.

    Hey mtakako,

Possibly... where do you usually play?

    Dave and Badrad --

That'll be great! I will message with more details once I get things in order. Ah, I could feel the warmth of your welcome... perhaps the first shot to my face would punctuate that sentiment:D Kidding aside, thanks and I look forward to playing with you guys:)

Hmmm... interesting. Well, I am sure that you will be seeing me tonight in Ed. Gym. It's gonna be the last night for the baddy club before they shut down for exams and for me before my move. Come by and say hi when you can:).

Nah, the 4-court gym at E19 doubles as a dance hall... recreational badminton shares the gym with the U of A modern dance group. Level of skills is quite good there, but the floor gets pretty dusty due to sharing with occasional volleyball tournies, Tae Kwon Do and the dance group:(

    Hi Canadian! (fellow-badders):

Ed. Gym at UA on Fridays, EDBA bookings at Concordia and GMac (downtown), and wherever it's inexpensive(still looking).

    ciao,

Well, it's not really that packed anymore these days... at least not during the weekends. Firstly, hours were reduced and secondly, the Rec. officials are stepping up ID checks so if even if you have the ONEcard and you didn't pay facility fees, they'll take your card away cuz it's invalid. Most of the crowds before were Alumni, NAIT players and public... so they didn't bother with paying for day pass.

Hmm... I think you maybe refering to Eric Thai (Chinese guy with glasses). He wears FORZA and is a very good player. This year, he just returned to the U of A badminton club after two years of absence.

Ah, isn't that a coincidence:D!!! Were you a regular before? Did you take a long break from baddy or just from BC/BF? It's too bad you didn't join the U of A baddy club... the level of skills has increased after Rec. officials drove the E19 regulars to Ed. Gym.

BTW, if you have a valid ONEcard... join the club by all means. There's a few open spots in the membership cuz some of us are moving away for good. The club plays on friday nights (7pm-10pm) and we have a long standing tradition of relaxing at Boston Pizza on Whyte Ave. after our games.

Heh! Can't wait to see me leave, eh?;) Man, with friends like K2', who needs enemies:D?

Chia - Where exactly are you located at present?

FYI, the U of A club is a social badminton club that holds yearly end of season friendly competition for the members. It has a good number of competitive players but does not have a training component like Derrick or Royal Glenora. It has a very transitory membership as majority are students, however we do have a core group of alumni who hang out and go out for the occasional Dim Sum or dinner in restuarants. So do check us out:).
