Saina is correct, could it be that the new coaching staff prefers an all round play? Could it be due to the recent success of HSP and LS (more balanced than say KS and SN (attackers))? even Sindhu though has always been a retriever packs good attack, but her attack has dwindled in recent past (Denmark open being an exception) Ashmita is really talented, but lacks discipline, self beleif, it's almost as if she hasn't had put enough hours on her skills. Talent is nothing with hardwork, could be due to lack of opportunities when she started? The amount of exposure Akarshi received is a blasphemy, Ashmita or even Malvika would've done a lot better with all that exposure. But they are all relatively "old" now, badminton is really cruel if you don't start early, HSP, CTC are good exceptions, but these cases are far less and far infrequent. Currently only Anupama provides hope Unnati/Tara/Sihag have shown some sign but are far behind their east Asian counterparts.
I had started following Samiya after her GS u15 or u17 asia win. But I can see, she couldn’t perform that well till 1-2 years ago. Any latest news of hers ?
