I've seen shlok's instastories. He was not able to participate in this tournament because of marriage of some close relative. Also, Arjun and BSR won the final today.
I know, and I always wondered if BSR could "steady up" a bit and provided a quick front court partner he could do better. But now the "seniors" finally started pulling off some victories, will be terrible timing to split them up. Also, Arjun/Shlok looked promising in the beginning, have only slowed down since. Anyways, PBL is coming, they can try partenrships there
I think in PBL, either it'll be all foreign or one foreigner/Indian pairing. All Indian pairing, it seems won't happen. Arjun/shlok partnership is not yet that strong owing to unforced errors and weakness in defence
Just watched the match...Choi is a bit of an a**hole. Glad the umpire gave him what he deserved, and KSH put him in his place in the end. Feel bad for SSC tho...losing two finals on home soil on the same day.
Would Eom Hye Won play internationally again? Surprised that she was younger than Kim HaNa but retired earlier
As far as I know, 5 stars portray 5 badminton important tournament : Olympic Games, World Championships, Thomas Cup/Uber Cup, Sudirman Cup and Asian Games (Individual event). Li Xuerui won 2012 London OG, Uber Cup (2012, 2014, 2016), Sudirman Cup (2013, 2015) but still misses WChamps and AG.
1 star represents gold medal achievement in each of these major events : OG, WC, TUC, SC and World Cup (not Asian Games).
Lol what is choi problem...I don't remember he's delaying anything when he's playing in MD first, but somehow playing this mind games against ko.
And Han Yue ton of errors contributed Li XR victory yesterday, former Olympic Champion Li showed her prowess at front area, flat footed her opponent several times. We'll see how Li XR performance against top ranked players in Super 500, 750, 1000 tournaments next year. Two lop-sided matches in singles category as Son Wan Ho outplayed the less experienced Lee Zii Jia with two quick games, an excellent netplay by home favourite as his forte. With HKG Open title and KOR Super 300, it'll boost his confidence towards season-ending finale in Guangzhou.
Exactly. That's why some of the CHN players can never have their 5th star. I think of all the active players, only LD has full 5 stars. Even Zhang Nan is stuck at 4 stars until now. He has won all OG, AG, WC, TUC, and SC golds.
Lol... I think Ko does this fast service on purpose (or he's more nervous?) when playing in pro competition matches. Because I've watched his social games and he's normal in his service there. Sent from my SM-G965W using Tapatalk
Perhaps partly tactical in nature as well? Force the pace that the opposition isn't ready for off the bat so that he can go for his hard and fast style of blasting through. Sent from my LG-H930 using Tapatalk
Did anyone notice that a new synthetic shuttle was used during Italian international? http://www.badmintonpeople.com/Cms/EventInfo/?eventID=22202&clubid=4685&cmsid=239 Eager to read any comments about it. And some more details about the perspetive of these tests would be also interesting.
The Thai Masters 2019 : Nowadays, it's more of a pain watching Lin Dan play than a joy, for me that is - all those uncharacteristic mistakes and misjudgements. I doubt he can take this tournament.
Cai Yanyan smashing her way to defeat and Saena returning a lot to frustrate CYY into making more errors.
Lin Dan saved by the skin of his teeth from matchpoint down in the decider to win the deuce, 22-20 against Lee Cheuk Yiu. Lin Dan appeared to me a bit stiff throughout the match.
Hey, Justin. Why don't you post in the 2019 thread? I imagine most of the members will not discuss it here. Cheers!
LD really, barely won it this time. LCY almost can win the 3rd game with a good lead had he play composedly.
