Pictures from the qualifying round. Nothing much to snap during the QF round actually. Just focus more on my front court play. Anyway, here are some photos. Will share more when i go to the stadium again 2moro. Thanks. The Mas open 2011 Banners. Lcw/Cj KKK/TBH WMC/LD? TH/WX And some photos of the stadium before the 2nd qualifying round. Everybody is conquering the premium seat because its FOC. From another angle. Can you recognize any familar media friends or ppl in the picture?
Voltric Racket from Yonex.. advertisement. didn't have a chance to snap the t shirts and other thing though.
Day 2 Round 1 I have some but pics not very sharp. The food court has been refurbished. Lee Wan Wah (Malaysia) was the sideline coach for Wong Choon Hann (Malaysia) against Marc Zwiebler (Germany), "Now, about our badminton academy business ..." Earlier in the day, The small crowd tried to rouse LWW and new partner Chang Chong Ming against Cho Gun Woo & Kwon Yi Goo (Korea) but they lost 21-19, 24-22. LWW's former partner, Choong Tan Fook was the coach for Hu Yun (Hong Kong) against Brice Leverdez (France). BL's coach seems to say, "Put your shirt on."
Day 2 Round 1 Salakjit Ponsana (Thailand)'s coach seems to say, "Tie your hair up and get ready." "Let me have a drink first." "Okay, I'm ready." Salakjit's brother Boonsak Ponsana seems to be ready ... ... maybe not.
Day 2 Round 1 Inthanon Ratchanok (Thailand) was ready to face the China robot Wang Yi Han. Close-up of the 17-year-old Ithanon with her coaches. Ithanon was so polite. She also 'wai' (clasped her palms together) in thanks everytime she received a new shuttle from the service judge. Wang Yi Han appears to sit without a chair or support. Told you she's a robot. Wong Mew Choo (Malaysia)'s coach Wong Tat Meng, seems to tell her, "You can beat them robots." WMC clawed back to beat out-of-battery Lu Lan (China) 13-21, 22-20, 21-12. The crowd went wild. Has WMC the Dragon Slayer returned?
Day 2 Round 1 Simon Santoso (Indonesia) demolished another robot Du Peng Yu (China) 19-21, 21-6, 21-5. Super robot Lin Dan (China) played against young compatriot Wang Zheng Ming. Close-up of Lin Dan's infamous badminton grip. That's his power source.
View of the stadium courts in action. A sharp eye will spot a fan favourite. Here she is ... Reiko Shiota (Japan) ... ... with mixed doubles partner Shintaro Ikeda and long time coach Park Joo Bong (S Korea). This combination managed to beat top seed Sudket Prapakamol and Saralee Thoungthongkam (Thailand) in strait sets. I suspect Ikeda-san had more focus. The Thais seemed distracted. "Don't look at my butt." "You can look at Anastasia's butt (but after the match)."
Day 2 Round 1 Nguyen Tien Minh (Vietnam) beat Sho Sasaki (Japan). NTM at the players' area, later. A patriot decked in Malaysia flag. Read his sign. Another pose.
nice shots - and the comments are even better! thanks but your were talking about the 'crowd' - can't see them- what's wrong?
Day 3 Round 2 I am back from today's matches with some more photos. Thailand No.2 mixed doubles Songphon Anugritayawon and Kunchala Voravichitchaikul (whose names I cannot pronounce without getting my tongue tied) managed to avenge their compatriots' loss yesterday to Reiko Shiota and Shintaro Ikeda. You can see Songphon was not looking at Kunchala's butt ... ... and also because Reiko seemed troubled by a toothache.
