Hats off to Gillian Clark who boldly at the very start of the Shi Yuqi - Kento Momota match, predicted that Shi Yuqi may get through Momota today. I doubt anybody in this forum nor in China gave SYQ a fighting chance of winning.
Some of your predictions were subjective if I must say You got lucky a lot today. How much did you make?
Didn't work for Li Xuerui in losing World Championship final. But it does help. Indonesians usually play very well in front of home crowd.
Nothing. I am not happy that one of my predictions gone wrong . I am wondering if, other than me, any other forum member had predicted Shi yuqi's victory?.
I don't know. Everyone seemed to be very surprised with the result not because SYQ won it but more about how he had won it. Who would have thought SYQ would have played the way he did and that Momota couldn't find a way to fight back as hard as he usually would have? Momota was as puzzled as some of us I guess.
Yes, its the same la.. Chinese / Indonesians. But China is better they have more resources. Just look at LiLiu titles this year all won at home, let see if they can win AE .
I was 100% reverse your predict because I don't like you ^-^, and I was right with Wang. That is my true predict. My really predict is Momota. 100% Sindhu/Okuhara is 50%-50% worry about Tak/Mak, I think they will lose today and just hope Yuta/Endo can change something (20-30%) China win "Sudirman cup" today with three winning matches
Yah, no kidding. That was probably thinner than the hair on my head! And to get match point too! Sent from my SM-G965W using Tapatalk
Come on Man already so many more tours in China. They already have 100% more tour than other nations before the tournament. Yes China paid for everything but BWF should scratch their head more.
Finally, Sindhu breaks the jinx of losing in finals. Congratulations to her. And finally we get to see an Indian win a really big tournament after a very long time. Her final losses(as much as I remember): 2016 south asian games - finals(lost to Ruthvika) 2016 olympics - finals(lost to Carolina) --2016 SS/WT finals - semi finals(the only time she did not make a major final in last 3 years- lost to SJH) 2017 world championships - finals(lost to Nozomi) 2017 SS/WT finals - finals(lost to Akane) 2018 world chmpionships - finals(lost to Carolina) 2018 commonwealth games- finals(lost to Saina) 2018 asian games - finals(lost to TTY) 2018 WT finals - WINNER(finally!) And not only did she win, she was unbeaten. Beat #1 Tai Tzu Ying, #2 Akane and 2 former world champions on the way. Amazing performance. Also well played to Sameer Verma. Played beyond what I was expecting. With a little more luck, he might have actually won the title.
Gill Clark also mentioned Shi YQ has crowd support but it didn't work in Nanjing World Championships final. None I guess except you to predict MS correct winner. Cosidering Shi YQ lousy feat and mentally weakness in his previous matches against Momota, it's hard to imagine and believe he showed impeccable performance yesterday. 2019 Sudirman Cup will be really interesting to wait, Japan will pose biggest hurdle for China to regain the coveted trophy.
I think the bigger hurdle will be 2020 Olympics because it will be held IN Japan. Japan looks strong in almost each of the 5 events.
