Reported by Netease Sports Channel, March 12, 2006 Beijing time, from Chengdu.

It is the last and the most important day for 2006 China Masters Cup because all champions will be fixed on today. In men’s doubles, top seeded for this championship and world 2nd ranked pair Danish Jens Eriksen/Martin Lundgaard Hansen snatch a 2-0(21-17,21-16) victory over Chinese top Cai Yun/Fu Haifeng and thus enjoy the honor of being champion.

Cai Yun/Fu Haifeng beat Wu Junming/Bai Guohao without losing much sweat in the semifinal and get themselves well prepared. As for Eriksen/Hansen, they won the champion in England Tournaments this year. The latest fight between the two pairs happened in the World Cup held last year and the match ended in Cai Yun/Fu Haifeng’s victory which resulted in their championship.

As soon as the game starts, they cast ferocious attacks on each other. By exploiting consecutive high cross-court kills, Eriksen/Hansen make a perfect beginning of 4-1. Calming down, Chinese players control the situation and take the chance to strike consecutive scores in a row, soon they surpasses Eriksen/Hansen at 10-7. But after that, continuous misses from Cai Yun/Fu Haifeng soon grant Eriksen/Hansen an upper hand of 11-10.

After the break Chinese catch up by beautiful net shots and Danish pair intentionally hits the ball to the backcourt in order to win the suitable smashing chance. Soon Eriksen/Hansen take the game under control again by reason of Can Yun’s misplays after 15-15. It is evident that Cai Yun/Fu Haifeng could hardly resist the fierce attack from Eriksen/Hansen which causes them to miss unceasingly. Before long Eriksen/Hansen win the game point and set the first game at 21-17 at one fling.

Eriksen/Hansen keep their excellent performance in the second game and capitalize on a good start with another 4-1. Then Cai Yun/Fu Haifeng speed up the pace and give their unready rivals a sudden blow. The game becomes tougher after 5-5. Though Cai Yun/Fu Haifeng make good use of positive offensive tactic, they’ve got too many misses to win superiority. By powerful smashes and diagonal teamwork,Eriksen/Hansen succeed in bringing the game to the break by 11-8.

When the game starts over again, Cai Yun/Fu Haifeng still strike with precipitance, they even fail the service without rhyme or reason. They are in disadvantage situation when falling 4 points behind. Though chants and cheers for Cai/Fu from home audiences are so shocking, Erikesen/Hansen are the real controllers for this match, they spare no pains till the last minute. With another miss from Cai/Fu, Eriksen/Hansen secure the match point in great disparity and seal the match ultimately at 21-16. Therefore they are entitled to the championship while Cai Yun/Fu Haifeng are the runner-up. (by 旺旺)
