Worst MS match I have ever seen. Absolutely no danger whatsoever from rear, mid or front court. Cherry on the cake being terrible low serve without any topspin, so the opponent could force whatever pace they want on the return. P
MS would have been so much better if LZJ and LKY were in the lower bracket with Zhao Jun Peng. The fact that LZJ and LKY were in the upper bracket, probably meant the 3 best MS players in this tournament were all stuffed in the upper bracket. If LZJ and LKY were in the lower bracket with Zhao Jun Peng, I don't think Zhao Jun Peng would have gotten to the finals. The true finals was probably LZJ and Viktor yesterday.
It was already a mismatch from the start. I mean there is Nothing zjp has to threaten axelsen. To make it exciting, you should bet 1k on axelsen to win. They gave stupid odds like -13.5 to axelsen
With the way zjp play he would probably even threathen lzj and lky. I really dun think JC really play badly to get trash both times. I really do not know how ppl actually thinks axelsen is actually only given -13.5 The ppl putting those odds probably do not watch much badminton. I can put my rent money in and still will not cry even if I happened to lose. Lzj and lky can beat axelxen but they do not give the vibes that they are unbeatable. Axelsen does. I was stupid not to whack everything in.
What happens today for the power difference in the other half of the ms simply is a shiut out to remove protective ranking immediately. How long they going to it? We still seeing names of people retired in top 10
Actually, he and lsf and lgz wil be able to challenge most of the others except for Viktor. If losing to Viktor indicates that China is not having a future, I dunno what to say
Singles category contest displaying contrasting tone in final day, Wang ZY did her best effort to give huge favourite Tai TY a run for her money. Slow starter Tokyo OG silver medalist had challenging times to analyze her younger rival style in opening game. Next, changing place to far side of the camera, Taiwanese ace demonstrates her marvelous skill to outplay the lost focus Chinese rival with delicate shots, exposing Wang weakness area, deep forehand and backhand at front area that causing Wang can't retrieve shuttlecock properly. Current world number two beat two China players in a row to reclaim 2018 crown. Wang is obviously Chen YF younger version who has developed tremendously and will soar into top ten soon. Lee ZJ-Axelsen semifinal showdown is real MS final clash. The easiest victory for Olympic Champion to earn 12,000 points and pocketing US$84,000, he simply outclasses Zhao JP in extremely lopsided match, effortless to score point due to his opponent nervous shots, anticlimactic final as predicted. China should push younger generation to catch up with elite players, time is running out for Lu and Zhao but nothing noteworthy improvement in their career thus far. Zhao reaches final round here is rare opportunity due to more favorable drawing than his teammate Lu GZ. Slowly but sure China start to build up strength in men's doubles discipline, Liang/Wang managed runner-up last week then Liu YC/Ou XY clinch S1000 title in brief period of their partnerships, incredible form along this tournament. A comprehensive triumph for two-time World Champion in final, thanks to Zheng Siwei smashing machine to nail four consecutive titles in this year, no doubt that they're the strongest contender towards Tokyo World Championships. Mastuyama/Shida outlast seniors Fukushima/Hirota in the longest duration of final day.
Lu, Zhao, Li, Weng, Sun, Lei, that's CHN has right now, miles away from their golden era (Yang Yang-Zhao JH- Xiong GB) (LD/CL/CJ/BCL). Shi Yuqi, needs longer time, possibly he would return early next year, start from the scratch.
The likes of Tian Houwei,Wang Zhengming, Du PengYu etc would be annihilating any of these new China MS easily if they were in this era and the guy that ruptured his ACL when vsing Momota cant remember the name… was the one of the best prospects in ages. edit: Xue Song
Poor Xue Song, I remember watching him live at the 2016 All England, he had a great run beating CL and VA before losing to LD, then about 1 month later his career went down the drain due to injury. Also Lin Guipu could have made it big but it never happened and he dissapeared under mysterious circumstances (injury?)
The main problem is the erroneous seeding of Momota at second seed. Something needs to be corrected in seeding to reflect the true standings.
