Interesting match: Inthanon Ratchanok-vs-Tai Tzu Ying . Agree. This is going to be a close match. I am waiting for Sandy to give us their PAW points. Whoever has higher the PAW points, I shall pick her. .

See for yourself. One thing is for sure, no one in the China camp saw this coming: Wong Wing Ki played a brilliant attacking game. I thought Uncle Lee has already lost it because of age yesterday, but looking at how Wong played....Maybe not.
Well, since Ms Goto doesn't have a game tomorrow she can eat as much B.day cake as she wants tonight!
Thanks for the link Firstly, I found it amusing that the commentator went through every possible permutation of arranging the words "Wong Wing Ki", with little success. I would term LD's performance as schizophrenic, mixing intensity with irresponsible casualness. I think WWK probably played as well as he could but LD rarely shifted out of 3rd gear. LD made it look like the whole badminton thing was an annoying chore and went through the motions. I bet if he had a watch on (did he?), he would have been continually glancing at it. If this match was not a giveaway, I don't know what is.
Agree. Was surprised WWK defeated LHI. WWK must have improved significantly in skills and stamina. So he can have the option of surprising with his tactics. Of course LD would not expect to have to prepare for WWK or rather, a much polished version of WWK. Or he thought he will eventually win in the nick of time, like in the past. Kudos to WWK for having the mental edge over LD. Proves that with decent skills, a player who has belief and confidence because he has done his homework, will always have a chance against a more established opponent who underestimates him and just turns up to play.
Agree. But the style of giveaway is unnatural. Why make WWK work so hard for it? How is that supposed to help him in his next match? LD should have just done another walkover!
In a blow to male chauvinism, the Danish commentators stated that Wong Wing Ki' s coach is female. Wong wasn't a complete nobody before. Nor did he meet up with top-form Lin Dan yesterday, but it's obvious that WWK's fast, strongly aggressive strategy was a sign of excellent coaching. Anyone have some background on this ex-player coach, whose name I missed?
yeah quite right...a no name female for badminton strangers http://www.badzine.net/features/wang-chen-a-new-start-for-former-world-1/2589/
some folks may be just having faint memories...perhaps still recalling Hong Kong as a showcase colony of the former Imperium, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
In terms of consistency, Uncle PHG beats the Chinese players and TH and his 2011 achievements till now, testify to that. He always gives his best and he will do the same in the QF match against his compatriot, Viktor Axelsen. He is a gentleman and he would not be a party to any arrangement that would make his win questionable.
IN fact all countries should use this stunt if given the opportunity to do so. Then at least other countries besides china gets this advantage too. So if china can do it, why not everyone else? So at least BWF will tend to look even weaker in the eyes of everyone with the blatant throw away games and walkovers. Then at least it will begin to stir the gentle giant BWF, or will it?
Does the DBA finance its players? To what extent? well...it highly depends on whether or not the DBA plays such a vital role towards each Danish player. The most crucial factor is to what extent the DBA finances its player (in total or just partial cost; since the beginning, young age or only in later stage after player proves 'certain value', etc). In essence just follows the flows of money! It's simply a nonsense for the association to be able to command a particular player's win/lost decision or anything else of paramount importance if it doesn't finance its players, either in its entirety or most of the costs. I believe some one here can explain better the actual relationship between the DBA and Danish players, esp. in its financial aspect.
