When in defensive play , after you hit a clear from your forehand rear court. How can I go back to base position? 1.like LCW shuffle 2 times. Or 2.like LD small hob and walk to base. I practice them both ,but find the 2 times shuffle use a lot energy and hard to go to back hand rear court. Thank you very much.
If you do a high clear, the walk is fine. If you do a fast attacking clear, the shuffle side step is faster. But both methods can work. It depends on which one you feel comfortable with.
Thank you very much,Cheung For detail in 2 side step shuffles. The 1st shuffle should be large or small (in direction to base) ?Befor perform second side step shuffle. I practice with equal and find sometime very slow.
I m experiencing the same thing as u do.. Given that i play doubles most of the time.. I belif the prob lies in my forehand hitting action that led to bad recovery (not stable) esp when i m late for the shuttle .. The pressure that gives me the feeling that i m late for a second .. So try to b behind the shuttle and ur forehand swing is good enuf to be cleared to the baseline .. Most pro hardly jump when they try to retrieve the shot so they have better stability, hence a better recovery..
1st side step equal to large. It's actually quite difficult to judge because the size of the shuffle will depend on many factors in the game.
