Name: Tim Level: intermediate-advance (playing for 5 years) Single/Doubles: Doubles back court player Style: Placement and heavy smasher Racket: Nanoray Z Speed - Solid defense and smash return - Fast smash Shuttle: Nylon and feather / mostly nylon ( recreational player ) The problems i experience with this racket is that its my first time using a racket with smaller frame, so i do miss-hits and hit the frame about 25% of the times. Based on my experience with this racket, i can play quite well with it, but i don't really enjoy the feeling or feel comfortable with the racket. I find it to be less forgiving when hitting the shuttle in the wrong spot. When hitting plastic shuttles, i can clear all the way to the back, but i wouldn't say effortless clears. Sometimes i do need to use quite a strong snap to clear it all the way. Before the ZS, i used VT 7 and clears were definitely effortless compared to ZS. Rackets in mind(suggestions are welcome): MX80, MX90, TK9000, BS LYD Im looking for a racket to generate a strong smash in doubles, but light enough for a decent defense and smash return. I enjoy stiff ( not extra stiff ) and not too head heavy. I have tried VT 80 and VT ZF, but i find them to be too heavy for my doubles play of continuous smashing. I apologize if some things might be contradicting or confusing. Im not good at describing things. All suggestions are welcome and thanks for taking your time to read. If something i wrote is wrong, feel free to correct me.
Coming from a ZSPD and if VT80 is too demanding , the MX90 is probably your most logical choice. I'm looking at a that too btw...
TK-9ooo in 4u for fast doubles game, I concur. Stiffness wise, I reckon it is half to one notch less stiff than VT80.
from your story i'd definitely not recommend u getting mx80. it's heavy and stiff as hell, bs lyd fits your profile better, i'd recommend u trying it
hey guys I have been practing with feather and trying some rackets around. I feel stiff rackets work for me when i play with plastic because it requires more raw power from muscles, but for feather i can't play properly with it. Should i chance to medium flex for feather?
Yep, that's what I've found too. Stiffer and head heavier with thicker strings at lower tension for plastic. And mid stiff (to the point of being just slightly whippy) and balanced with thinner strings at higher tension for feather.
BS12 swing speed is faster than the general racket. Shot back quickly, so drive and push are so good, long and high clear very easily, smarsh pretty good. BS12 on defense has a great advantage, is a very good doubles racket.
^ Hmmm... why isn't visor offering to sell you his XP-70? I'd also recommend you try out the VT-ZF2 3u or 4u. Pretty awesome stuff, if you can handle it. Or the Nanoray 900.
YONEX ArcSaber 7 ,YONEX ArcSaber i SLASH,YONEX NANORAY 600,VICTOR TK-9000,VICTOR BRAVE SWORD 12,VICTOR BRAVE SWORD 12L 。
MX80, MX90, TK9000 are all 'very stiff' (or stiffer) in yonex parlance, with mx80 being uber stiff' mx80 mx90 are quite head heavy, tk9000 is very head heavy.
