i am an intermediate to advanced player. i can play with both. i play a lot of doubles but i like playing singles just as good. its 50-50. which racquet is better? i am okay with timing. i can time the z slash fine of my friends. is the arcsaber 11 better than the z slash? plz help
I've used both. Solid intermediate player here. I love the arcsaber 11. It's definitely the better all round racket then the z-slash. Key differences between both is that the z-slash has a stiff shaft and a slightly heavier head frame which makes the racket much less forgiving. In contrast, the arcsaber 11 has a flexible shaft with an even balanced head frame. The new 'sonic metal' material in the arcsaber 11 creates a better 'feel' for the shuttlecock, (my opinion) which allows for better control and placement. The Z-slash is just much more technically challenging to use, with only 1 small added advantage over the arcsaber 11: you could probably smash a little bit quicker with it if one is presented with the opportunity to do so, but how often in a game does your opponent gives you easy lifts for one to smash? Not often if you're playing good players. So yup, overall I would choose the arcsaber 11 anyday over the z-slash
I think it would be wise to go with the Arcsaber 11, if you are going to use it for both Singles and Doubles. The smaller head of the Z-Slash might be difficult to play with when you are play fast paced doubles as you might mishit the shot
string and tension (as the racket) absolutely depend on your level/style of play. i would string arc saber 11 with BG80 at 30lbs. but what does this info help YOU?
If you're not really in the professional thingy , i think you can just stick with Arc10 and save a few bucks. The sonic metal thingy is just 3% of the racket and wont really do much difference. Good strings for it are ZM65 , NBG 98 , BG80 , and VS-850 Personally i liked the Arc Z Slash more , honestly i did'nt have any mishits with it . The faster speed swing and concentrated SS gave me more power. Im used to stiff rackets. But that's just me
same here the differnce when i play with the z slash is so much better. if you can time the shots perfectly then the z slash is unbeatable...it has awesome power and even better control. just take the time to improve your timing and where you place the shuttle.
i've always thought whatever string you're used to will work on a racket, but i do understand a certain string gives you a certain feel, and that does makes a big difference to me as well i am surprise to hear that the z slash is stiffer than the arc 11? if that's the case then the arc11 is the racket for me, since i enjoy more flexible rackets. however, the z slash is flexible enough for me since i can whip that racket around pretty easily, now i really wonder how flexible the arc11 really is. i am not disputing the comments about the flexibility of the arc11 i'm just curious. as far as string, i've just recently tried the zymax 67 and loved it, tension is still there, power is there, love the popping sound. and i've had it for at least two weeks, almost no wear and tear i strung it on my Forza at 24x26 and i get power and control. very very happy with it. maybe you should give the zymax line a try
In the last match Tommy vs Tego, the highest smash speed from Tommy+ARC11 is faster than Tego+NRZSP. Of cause player skills make difference, but the power from this racket should be good enough for both single & doubles.
I'm very surprised, too! Played with an Arc Z-Slash(sold it) and now own an Arc 11/ 11TH i can seriously told you, that the Z-Slash felt more flexible due its longer shaft owed to its smaller head! The Arc11 feels as stiff as VT80 but more stiff compared to the Z-Slash! For example: The Z-Speed is described as stiff, but the feedback in general is flexible, like the description in Directsportseshop.com shows as well!
hi guys, I am still not 100% sure which one I should get, Z-slash or Arc11? They are both going for exactly the same price now, but the savings for the Z-slash is more. Could this be because its hard to master?? Anyway, I mostly play doubles and I can consider my self as a lower intermediate player (or advance beginner ). I have a decent amount of strength in my smash but maybe not enough technique.. currently using a NS7700 (and i love it but hands itchy already ), BG66 @ 24lbs. Want to try a more control based racquet, for better net play. Any recommendations?
