21-13 21-18 like that for Lee Hyun Il if you ask so. Lee Hyun Il has better footwork, more penetrative attack and less unforced errors in this matchup.
He was never a soldier. Stop stating half-truths or suspicions like they're facts. He was part of the PLA's badminton team, never was anything other than a badminton player. Playing professionally as part of the PLA requires you to serve some time and gives you an official rank, but you're not really a soldier. There's similar systems in many countries.
While I was scrolling through Chinese weibo after China's Thomas Cup 2018 Win, I saw numerous pics of Lin Dan partying hard, eating ravenously and as a result, he appeared a bit fat in World Championships. After World Championships, he lost a yard or so and became prone to powerful smashes. His results since WC are better indicator of his physical shape 1ST Round US Open 1ST Round Indonesia Open 1ST Round China Open 2ND Round Korea Open QF Japan Open 2ND Round Denmark Open 1ST Round French Open 2ND Round SaarLorLUX 1ST Round China Open 1ST Round Hong Kong Open
Objectively, 2018 has been the worst year of Lin Dan: it's his lowest win percentage ever. Here are yearly statistics on his win percentage (and other statistics like on the Momota thread): 1999 66,6667% 2 3 2 1 2001 75% 3 28 21 7 2002 64,7059% 1,83333 17 11 6 2003 84,0909% 5,28571 44 37 7 2004 88,3721% 7,6 43 38 5 2005 88,8889% 8 45 40 5 2006 90,9091% 10 44 40 4 2007 87,7193% 7,14286 57 50 7 2008 89,2857% 8,33333 56 50 6 2009 93,1818% 13,6667 44 41 3 2010 89,7436% 8,75 39 35 4 2011 92,7536% 12,8 69 64 5 2012 89,4737% 8,5 38 34 4 2013 100% infinity 9 9 0 2014 95,2381% 20 42 40 2 2015 77,3585% 3,41667 53 41 12 2016 82,9268% 4,85714 41 34 7 2017 78,2609% 3,6 46 36 10 2018 55,2632% 1,23529 38 21 17 One can clearly distinguish the period 2004-2014 where his win percentage was ≥90% or very close. During 2015-2017, it was significantly lower but still close to 80%. However, this year...
Wow this year's rate still above 55%? I thought after all those early round exits he would only had 30% more or less.
And heartbreaking. At least I'm glad he is honest and realistic enough to realize it will require "... Decathlonian (? huge) stamina, I will pour my heart out in (the) winter training Camp...." for the Olympic qualification cycle next year.
Yes, Fu Haifeng, Chen Long and Lin Dan are not playing CBSL this year. The later two will go for training again.
The one over month intensive systematic training should do Chen Long a world of good. And I hope the same for Lin Dan though it'll be tough for him, putting everything else aside away from home at Lingsui, Hainan island, and following a strict training routine and fitness program day in, day out; it will require nothing less than sheer dogged determination and perseverance not only during the winter training camp but all the way to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics itself.

Where is Lin Dan? Oh i didn't know I can skip the whole introduction. Wasted 25 minutes watching the beginning part.
When was this match? And was that LYB umpiring? It would be nice to know what he was saying cos the crowd laugh every time he speak
He was saying , This is the hardest Lin Dan has tried in years. And that Chen Long has gotten slow after marriage.
Haven't seen LD looked that good, he looked in better shape there. He ages really really well, I must say.
Yes, Li Yongbo was the umpire cum commentator and he had the audience entertained with his technical and witty as well as funny remarks that had the crowd in stitches.
Rudi Hartono mocks Lin Dan's efforts of vying for Tokyo : ''Even I have a lot of experience, doesn't mean I can win in any of the tournaments now.'' http://www.badmintonplanet.com/badminton-news/13231-rudy-hartono-talks-lin-dan-pv-sindhu.html
The best is his comment that LD winning wouldn't be the best thing for badminton.....how? Seriously, if your players are too **** to beat an old man, they dont deserve to win. Simple as that. Really showing once again that you don't have to be smart to be a successful athlete, or at least not very thoughtful.
