My main one right now is Discovery III, I had others but broke them over the years. I also have Columbia, it's a beginner's Which line are you looking at? the european or asian? Some good racquets are: European line: Pegasus SQ20, MAGAN Beryllium SQ2000, and Dominator Ti (a really good racquet cheap, ~$60 USD) Asian line: Fung 2000, Sun Jun 2000, Ge Fei 2000 (if it's not discontinued)
not necessarily, because you can still order the asian lines in canada. also, I think lee's carry some asian line stuff. there are also a lot of places in N. America that carries the victor asian line. The two lines just differe I guess from where they are made, not where they are sold. Of course it's easier to buy asian line in asia and vice versa.
Yonex is the most known and distributed brand out there so it has more reviews. I talk to people who have never played badminton before and they associate yonex with the sport of badminton.
How come no one votes for "YangYang"? Pretty good rackets, too. Too bad, I can only vote once (Pro-Kennex), but I did also use my YangYang Tactic8500 a lot, too.
I went to Lees a few weeks ago... looked like 70% of the racquets were Yonex. I didn't see a single Victor on their showroom, but they might have some in the back. I guess they dont sell enough of them for it make it to the front...
In marketing you mean? The stores I went to all pushed Yonex irrespective of WHICH yonex. Apparently, most of the stores in Toronto have replaced knowledgable sales reps with Yonex pamphlets... "Which racquet is right for you" of course really means "Which YONEX racquet is right for you"
Well i'm kidna surprised at the lack of variety in racquet choices. So what's the big "others" brands that i missed?
I use carlton - the Airblade 2000TFX rox!!! and i got it cheap £60 down from £120 knocks spots of my mate Ti10 and MP100 See ya
oh certainly - i actually think that each player has an ideal racquet that suits their particular style of play - that is why people change racquets - it's not that their racquets get worse but their style ofplay changes to accomodate their age, fitness and a range of other factors Neil
Yonex is obviously the most well-known and advertised brand out there for badminton equipment and depending on where you are, there are other brands out there. the two Victor branch are big in their own respective regions, Germany and Taiwan. Carlton is another big name out there. Heard Forza and Winex a lot but haven't really seen them. For something extremely light, go check out Karakal, I think it is a Belgium brand, the SL-70 is fun to hold . There are numerous other brands out there, just look at the poll . Like Jchen99 said, the player make the racquet, not the other way around. Therefore the best racquet is the one that suits you. Most people have yonex simply because yonex is available everywhere.
