Could the maximum specified string tension (according to the sticker on the cone) be used as a gauge for racket durability?

For example, the cab20ms JP 3U has a max of 22 lbs while the cab20ms SP 3U has a max of only 20 lbs. Could I assume then that the JP version is more durable because its has a higher maximum specified string tension?

And could I also assume that the cab20ms JP 3U is just as durable as the cab20ms SP 2U because they have the same maximum specified string tension of 22 lbs, even though they are of different racket weights?

What do you think should be the maximum string tension for 3U JP version rackets?

    Thanks. :)

JP rackets are indeed more durable than SP versions.
But the JP versions are usually heavier and/or stiffer.... and some pple (including me) classify them as different rackets altogether.

One of my friend (whom I'm quite sure can beat quite a few pple in here!) uses an MP100 SP and tried the JP version recently. He did not like it at all.

Anyway, I've strung my Yonex 3U SP rackets at 26lbs. So I suppose the JP versions can take that as well.

And that friend of yours would be Byro or Moongoose? ;)

I personally find that JP is the best, then Australian version followed closely by SP version. Why do I rate Aus version above SP? the rackets just feels little bit sturdier and heavier, and seem to survive clashes better. I have just begun string peoples racket and I noticed that frame deforms a bit sooner in SP version when pre-tensioning than both AS and JP version.

No, that person doesn't post in this forum.
He's much better than mongoose, byron or me.
In fact, he can win us pretty easily most of the time and I believe he can give some of the Singapore National Players quite a hard time. :)

    That's very true! :D

I'm not too sure about this one though! :D
Cos' I've seen several 15 to 16 year old National Youth players whom I'm very sure can beat him.

    JP vs SP

as people say it, sh*t happens!

today, a friend of mine clashed his racket (mp100sp) with mine (mp100jp) 4 times during a high tensioned game of doubles...

    results?
he broke 2 mp100s (sp) and i walk away with an unscratched mp100jp!
he broke the 1st one on a duel with the floor and the second one on a duel with my racket...

just not his day i guess...
but jp rackets are indeed worth the money!

    Yup!
First time I see someone break 2 MP100 SPs within 15 minutes!!!
    :D

Last week, my MP100 CP suffered a massive clash with my partner's racket.
(You saw that one too, right |r|s?)
Luckily it only ended up with a tiny paint chip.

    Re: JP vs SP

Yes..... it was quite a heavy clash as far as I see it.
And both players had string their respective rackets at around 24-26lbs I believe.

I can't believe that Sofian broke 2 MP100 SP within 25 mins.... and in 1 set!!
And I'm also impressed that |r|s MP100 JP does not have a single paint chip at all. Amazing!
