I think they all are different rackets. Cab20 is even balance, NS9000 is head light, and AT800DE is head heavy. :D

I am not sure whether the new production of Cab 20 is available in the place where you live. If you can get it, of course it will be the best replacement/backup. Although in my opinion, the new Cab 20 is a little bit stiffer than the old one.

If the choice is between NS9000 and AT800DE, I will choose AT800DE instead. Although it is stated as 'defense', I find it an all-round racket, very good and stable.

it really on depends what you want as an alternative.
    a more offensive/defensive, lighter/heavier, different balanced racquet?
if you want something similar, why don't you just get the new range of cab 20, i'm sure they're widely available in singapore ...

try looking at the sotx stb-8080+ winner kinsmen. flex is stiff but not too stiff. weight is very light and there is more power to it that what it's specs would suggest. can go down to classic sports at toa payoh safra to check it out. as for price, it is ard $120 if i recall correctly.

True, but I tihnk should be too light. this is on the light end of 3u range. (almost 4u.) Even 3u Cab 20 feels heavier.

    A good racket though.

cab20 for doubles player, stiff? offensive? or flexi?

I've had my CAB20 Special for 4 years now and I've gotten so used to it I'm actually feeling guilty of changing racquets.

I'm getting NS9000 type-X in a few days time and was just thinking of the same thing on whether should I get a NS9000 or NS8000. I'm a doubles player.

My mates all tell me since I play very good control instead of smashes, they asked me to go for the 8000 but I think the difference wouldn't be that much once you get the hang of it. It;s amatter of getting used to it.

So I think you should go for the 9000.

What's the difference between the CAB20 and CAB20 special? anyone?
so CAB20 is not flexi? I always thought it was flexi.

i think what cooler said was referring to the original carbonex 20. there were red, blue, lavender, orange, and even green cab 20 in the past.
on the other hand. i think the meaning behind his post was "every racket has its own performance"!;)

what i meant was there is no true alternates to the original (except its paint color varieties :) ) I'm impressed:)

STB8080+ indeed is a good racket, however, I don't think it's identical to the cab20 original. 8080+ is light and head light, as does not give the solid feeling as cab20. It's a great racket for defense, especially for players who tends to play in front of the net in doubles or mxd. However, the power is a little lacking from the back.

that's nice to know. i've always wanted to have a cab20 but couldn't find one so i ended up buying a cab20 special, hoping that it would have the same "feel" as the original cab20. btw, it's a 2U-G4, so it's a bit heavy but i've gotten used to it. very good control and powerful smashes...:)
