Im pretty clueless when it comes to cabs. Im looking at a few for a friend and wondering which cab you guys would recommend for someone who likes to smash. I was also wondering if there are any medium balance cabs. Thanks!

I would ask what is your level and style of play. If you are a advance player with hard smash, get Cab30ms 3U. If you are a all around interm. player, get Cab20 origional or Cab20sp. I like Cab20ms also because I also play doublewho need good smashing power with good control. Cab21 and 23 are as good but I do not have experience with them. If you need to go to SF and need a ride, don't take a cab because it will cost you a Cab20ms.

Cab 21 is a bit more difficult to control than other cabs. Some people really like them but not me!

    Cab20 can suit anybody - it's a safe choice.

Personally, I have used 3 Cabs: Cab20 Power (aka Cab22), Cab23, and Cab20 Muscle. All were 2U-G4, US serial. My usual string is Yonex BG80 at 21 or 22lbs. Based on my experiences:

    Cab20Power US 2U-G4 (Cab22):
Very stiff racket, head heavy. Excellent power, but tiring to use. Good control on net shots. Of the three Cabs, its the slowest on defense. Durable.
Yonex standard length (664mm), not long.

    Cab23 US 2U-G4:
Stiff racket, feels head light. Good power and quick on defense. Easy to use at the net. Partial Muscle Power frame (along the top of the racket only). Yonex standard length (664mm), not long.

    Cab20 Muscle US 2U-G4:
Medium stiffness, not exactly head heavy or head light. Good power, but I had trouble with control on precision shots. Full Muscle Power frame. Yonex standard length (664mm), not long.

I have had the best experience with stiffer rackets but I'm sure it really comes down to your own style. I think the Cab30 Muscle is a long racket (674mm) and is pretty stiff, but I have never used one before. Cheers.

    I recommend Cab22 (a.k.a. Cab20 Power) for smashers. :)

I think Cab22 is the stiffest racket in the Carbonex series. If you like very stiff rackets, go for Cab22.

I think Cab30ms has stiffest shaft. Also Cab30ms is longer. As long as I am not the one getting shafted, it is OK. And let's not go down the path of who has stiffer and longer shaft...

PS. Kwun, you may edit out some part of this post after you read it...

CAB20TiPower is the stiffest of all the CABs.
Although it is not one of the longest, its 'stiff'ness compensates for it... ;)

Just out of curiosity, the shaft of cab20 power is written "HM graphite" while cab 22 is "HM carbon graphite"

So is the 2 rackets the same at all?
(sorry if this had been discussed before)

Another thing, is cab21 very similar in terms of feel(weight, balance and stiffness) compared to boron-2?

(cause these 2 rackets have slim carbon graphite shaft)

    Thanks

cab22 is same as cab20 power, dont read too much into the logos.

hard to give opinion on boron-2 as not many people have one. Slim shaft similarity doesnt say much. Lot of yonex rackets have slim shaft.

i wouldn't really reccomend the cab 21sp coz theres some vibration every now and then. but this only started when i strung it at 24lbs. now i use a titanium power 990 which is a good racket.
