Tried the MP66 today and I quite like it. More powerful than the 77 and better for clears than the 88. Have it strung with BG65 at 25 lbs.

which versions of the racquets were you comparing it to? becuase the MP88 and 77 come in two different weights each. also what is the weight of the 66? 3U?

I finally got the Mp66 with a good price from a tournament last week.
    Play it yesterday, head-light indeed.
hmmm still need adjustment for smash.
But excellent netplay and control .Push and drive was excellent so far.
Mine is the US version, 3u G4 1 overgrip.
One thing I found out, hmmm somehow it wasn't that flexible
    as it mention.

Mind to share about the price quote?

Also, stiffness is a relative term. The "feeling" also has to do with the overall weight, weight distribution (balance point), grip size, etc.

i got it for usd89 (with string bg65+stringing)after bargaining with the vendor.
Yes I agree it is a relative thing, but the thing is I got a ti-5 light
3ug4 which is medium flex; compare with MP66 i think Mp66 is stiffer.
But not as stiff as my MP77 and MP99.
    Just my feeling...

MP60 is the number used in Japan
    Outside Japan would be MP66

    Just bought MP66 SP 3UG4... price RM320 (~USD85)... without string n grip...

Get it strung with BG66 at 23lb... one layer Yonex overgrip...

    At shaft....
    - Ultimum Titanium + High Modulus Graphite
    - Head Light Balance / Long Size / Made In Japan
    - Long Shaft

yea... it is not that flexible as claimed in the Yonex 2004 catalogue

    will try it out soon...

Any more comments on mp66? ive recently read the reviews on the forum but i would have to admit that they are very limited...im also deciding on the tension...is it safe to have it strung at 23? (22m/24C) or 24? (23m/25c)? thanks:)

my mp66 now strung with BG66 at 26lbs (main) x 26lbs (cross)... feel so tight... feel unsecure... afraid may not survive during rackets clash

control is better than my mp55 or mp33... but lack of power. cannot comment more coz my main rackets now are mp55 and mp33.

23, 24 is a safe range, if the racket is in good condition. :)

its an ok racquet, i prefer head heavy ones personally, so it does feel a bit weird...3u version is nice and stable, not very stiff i dont think. however, many people add overgrips to the racquet....maybe making it more and more headlight (i'm using a very thin grip on purpose) which could be a problem.

in short, nothing special, the long shaft is useful, but just buy another racquet which is more balanced. only buy this if u are sure you like headlight racquets.

erm, so far the reviews for the mp66 have been mixed.

so may i know whether is it good for players with weaker arm and wrist power? will the head-light racquet makes the smashes even weaker?
is it good for doubles player who prefers to play at the front?

becoz i'm thinking of getting it for a friend....

mmmm i take some of that back after playing with it more.....(it just looks so nice in white)

anyway, it's really nice to swing with, the headlight balance lets you make adjustments all the way through your swing. Power is sufficient, and the flex of the shaft seems to suit me fine now. I would say its a nice forgiving racquet, and good reaction speed with its headlight balance:)
