Hi guys, need a little help on deciding which one's the best. I always play doubles and currently using arcsaber 10 w/ nanogy98 strung @ 28# (like it alot) but want to try something new. Can't find any demo or a friend who owns one and purely relying on your output. Thanks in advance!

there's no best between the both of them but if you want something new, take the Z slash and it's cheaper too

i have the arc10 and tried the Z slash and there are plenty of reviews on the Z Slash

it's pretty much a completely different racket and feel as the N90 is something you can find in the Yonex range

Dunno if an N90 is exactly going to be a good doubles racket. In fact, there are better doubles racket than the Z - my doubles game is getting better with it, but I play as well or better with a Carlton Vapour Trail Tour, which is a very different beast.

The N70 is touted as a better doubles racket, and the AT900T and NS9900 would probably be more forgiving doubles weapons than either of the rackets you've suggested.

As always, YMMV, as a lot of it depends on the level you're playing at and how much of a gearhead you are.

Most doublesplayer i know prefer the N33 .. I have never met a doublesplayer that likes arc-Z for doubles!!! I think Arc-Z is probably one of the worst rackets for doubles I can think of due to its very small frame and flexy shaft.

Not just for doubles , it is bad for any game a. I prefer the Arc10 , I guess the only good thing about the racket is if you want to decorate your racket bag in yellow and red.:D

I dont want to imagine what the Apacs Edgesaber Z is like ,oh dear !

yeah. looking at the european circuit tournament in stockholm played this week, the only arc-z i saw was the ones hanging in the yonex shop :p. it is something like 300 players!! and a huge number of yonex sponsored players and NO one did i see using the Z...

Couple of (double)playesrs in my regular group have switched to the Arc Z and I don't see that their smashes are more powerful nor they have improved their games at all. For me the Nanospeed 9900 (2U) is the best double racket and is more even in terms of power, defence and touch shots.

Nathan Robertson uses a Carlton VTT which has a very similar head profile to the Z, and has a medium flex shaft.

Lee Yong Dae uses a BS9 which also has a medium flex shaft.

    :)

we are not saying all medium flex racket are bad , actually some of them can recoil back very quickly and good for continuous hard smashing it is just the ArcZ ,not just the shaft , is the profile of the whole racket that is bad...is the whole combination ...I expected better from Yonex ... I was so looking forward in trying the racket , then when I did I was so disappointed and handed the racket back straight away.

Hey, there is nothing wrong with Bright Yellow rackets ! :D

Both the NS9900 and AT900p are excellent + for doubles , just watch out for clashing your rackets with your partners , they are not the most durable racket as my AT900p found that out for me. It was heart breaking !

Man, I feel sorry for the 0P lol.

Anyway, jaded and biased personal opinions aside, general consensus is neither of those rackets you've mentioned mate are going to be optimal doubles weapons.

    What's your Option B's?

No I didn't say it was important!! My point was rather the opposite. I have not tried the VTT but the BS09 is nothing at all like the Z. Even though it is marked mid stiff.. it feels stiffer and has a much bigger sweetspot, and great control.

To my knowledge VTT has not narrwed the frame like the Z. they use more semi-classic shape like forza CF-frame, Mizuno TC700 etc. Besides I think Nathan has been struggling quite a bit lately (even talked about retiring).

So far I've only seen juniors use it. Must be the colour that does it for them ... :p.
