i already used bg 9...in my opinion...i think it a ltte bit harder cmpre 2 bg 6...i bggest fan of bg6 bb66...i think for smeone tht hve big hardr its a gud choise...
Since I started tweekin' around with strings I have to say that Bg9 is not as good as bg66. I have had two cab 21 strung at 22x24 with bg66 and bg9. Bg66 feels more lively, and bg9 a bit dead at times. Bg66 also has more texture so it grips better. Power wise bg66 holds a slight edge, but not by much. In my case the bg9 holds tension as well as bg66 and it also seem to last as long.
If you want a thin powerfull string my conclusion is you shold still go for bg66. It is money well spent. Bg66 is equal or better in all aspects but the price, and bg66 is still not too expensive. If you whant to save money on strings. Try a lower tension or say hello to bg70!
Disclamer: I have only used one set of bg9 at 22x24, and it might be better if you string it att higher or lower tension, though I don't find it likely.
