hello i just saw this great rallye between Jeon and Houwei which starts at 15:30 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xHwB8dC5wlY i want to practice and learn the shot Jeon makes twice at the end of the rallye (15:47 and 15:57) Do you know where I can find slower videos and/or explanations of that one? In the match it is too quick for me to really see what i have to do to learn it and do it right.
Here's a video from Peter Gade explaining it - https://youtu.be/HA1sOLxvQow?t=2m45s The key is to hold your position long enough for the opposition to move first before you change the shot type. All the best with it.
I think Gade's is more complicated - a double action. I'm not sure the the strokes in the OPs video are double action. Also Gade's shot is fundamentally not a 'wait and see' shot. He decides early that he will fake the cross court and then send it long line on the second pump. The shots the op is curious about look more like hold & flick although I can't be sure. http://www.badmintoncentral.com/for...5-The-Art-of-Badminton-Deception-Hold-and-Hit
Definitely a hold and flick. The key is a light and loose finger grip, minimal if not negligible back swing and then achieved with a snap of the fingers to achieve the racquet snap/speed to drive the shuttle with pace and deception passed the opponent.
If you want to slow down the video, YouTube on the computer can do that by clicking on the settings button and choosing a slower playback speed.
thank you amleto and kikuhito and visor that was what i was looking for hopefully i will be able to learn it as my current opposition is getting everything back if i dont disguise them here and there
This is learning how to get tapped especially in doubles =.= No offence intended but i really think if u take the shuttle at a higher position u will have more variations even for trick shots, im not saying u shouldnt be practicing this but it shouldnt be your main set of strokes or a habitual thing
