A good pair of wide shoes (New Balance, Asics, etc)? Hi guys! I want to buy a par of shoes but have now idea which I should try. I've always have problem with shoes. Now I use only New Balance, but cant find a good solution in their product line. This model is very close to my ideal, but it is running shoes. I am about 85 kg. And I need: 1. Something light. 2. With good cushion. 3. Wide and stable. Price doest matter. My personal preference: NB, Asics, think about Yonex (is there a chart with the description of younex lines?), but everything is possible. Please, give me a list with the most popular models. Thank you
never ever wear running shoes for badminton. http://www.badmintoncentral.com/bc/2014/01/07/running-vs-badminton-shoes/ shoes are very personal. you need to find a pair of badminton shoes that fits the shape of your feet.
I know. In my case it is ten times more difficult to find something. I tried some badminton model of adidas, asics, but they all were terrible for me. I usually buy shoes on the internet and send back those I don't like. But here I little confused. The shoes are very specific and without good description it is almost impossible to decide what models I need to try in the first hand.I am trying to read about Yonex, but there is no good description at all (Yonex is a very strange company, detail information about their products is easier to find on other sites, the official site gives very limited information). They sell shoes, but what kind, what technologies are used, what is the difference? What is the most advanced and popular model? What do all these codes mean? Weight (top secret thing)? I cannot find any answer.
I think the most important issue is that there's a risk of twisting your ankle when you're performing cross-over step when you're moving diagonally from the center court to the forehand backcourt. The New Balance shoes you're thinking of is exactly raising the risk cos although the shoes are stable when running straight line forward, but it'll be very unstable to perform the above footwork.
I gave NB just as an example, they are light, wide, with a good cushion. I could recommend this model for runners. I need something for badminton, but... I spent whole evening yesterday. Yonex is a quest. How to choose something is a huge mystery. :crying:
http://www.sunriseclick.com/1837/Yonex-Men’s-Shoes/SHB-SC5-MX Good cushioning and responsive, comfy-snug fit in forefoot wrapping
Thank you. is there a way to understand wide, cushion, stability from all these MX, SC and other abbreviations?
Maybe you should better look into the relevant specs instead of the codes. But anyway for Yonex, mx means for men, sc means thicker cushioning.
In my town the choice of Yonex is limited, I can try only few models and find out my size. Usually, I buy shoes on the Internet (it is free to send them back), so it is a good idea to know. Now I understand that I need only SC model. Another must have - wide model.
Today, I tried this model http://www.handballshop.eu/asics-gel-thrust-men-e517y-9001.html, it was pretty good. But these are handball shoes Is it possible to use it or better to find something made specially for badminton?
With badminton shoes, you cannot have a shoe that is too light. The very lightest are canvas shoes which provide no support to the foot whatsoever. You can see the odd player around who will still wear them. So, unless a new material is produced, reducing weight of shoe is not an acceptable trade off. If you try handball shoes, be careful of the heel area. Handball (and volleyball) do not have the same lunges that badminton has. I remember suffering some bone bruising on my heel many, many years ago and it took months to clear up. If you really want fast footwork movement, the key to improving is to do footwork exercises and having good footwork around the court. Good body positioning (by adjusting your centre of balance efficiently) and playing smarter around the court will often make you feel faster! I really rate the Forza Evolve shoes. Have you tried them? They will feel slightly stiff at first but they really are a stable shoe and the front part is wide (I have wide feet and wear half a size bigger in normal shoes to fit my feet). For the Evolve, I have never been so impressed with a shoe before! I am very confident when moving around court in these shoes and having confidence is a big part of playing better.
Wow! A pair of not ugly badminton shoes! http://www.badmintoncentral.com/for...dminton-Shoe?p=2262449&viewfull=1#post2262449 I am going to try them soon. Thank you, Cheung
Something from this list what can be good? http://racketspecialisten.se/list_varugrupp.asp?t=Badmintonskor&varugrupp=386&lang=sv
Haha. Those are the ones I have and are still going strong. Excellent value for money. I should buy a couple more pairs.
Just a small note about fashion - since I am quite fussy about shoes and find it hard to get a suitable pair, I don't have the choice of selecting from a large range of colours. My priority is a good shoe over colours. Of course, this varies for different people so some will place a higher value on fashion and compromise on other areas.
Consider Yonex SC6EX. A few pro Danish players (Fischer Nielsen?, Boe/Mog, Jorgensen) wear or have worn them.
Today I tried FZ FORZA Evolve... They are very narrow. :crying: As well as Yonex Aerus, super narrow and no cushion under the toe (super grip and weight, though). Now, I am going to try to find Yonex SC6 wide, but it is possible only in Japan. :crying:
Today tried shoes for handball. http://www.kempa-handball.de/en/products/category/110/shoes Very good quality and quite nice price.
an indoor court shoes or volleyball shoes will probably be the closest alternative if you decided not to go with badminton shoes, then you'll have better selection in either Mizuno or Ascis
