Got University squad trials soon, and they use half court single games to determine skill level. Rarely ever played half court singles, and I mainly play MD and singles at an intermediate to advanced level. Any tactics/advice on how to play half court?

    Thanks!

Expect longer rallies with a lot more clears.
Despite the narrower court, you can still get some nice angle from the rear that can win you a lot of points.
Smashes will be a lot less successful from the back of the court, so stick with half smashes or fast drops, unless you see a clear opportunity.
You shouldn't ever need to play a backhand (clear or drop) so get used to around the head footwork.
Flat play is also more common, so this may benefit you from your doubles experience.

Edit - What Uni are you at !?!?

University of Bath unfortunately (for badminton), I think they are number one or two in the country, so it's going to be tough to get into the squad! :crying:

Damn. Well, at least there will be some competition.
    Good luck.
