    Hi,

I'm just doing some research and checking on which string goes well? I hear BG80 is a top all around performer but there are some other good ones I hear as well. I'm more of a power attacker and like offensive plays.

    Any suggestions?

I'm a power player too and I use BG85, but I heard many people like BG80 also. Have a pack of it but haven't tried it yet. BG85 is not bad though and has nice sound

IMO the string choice is related to preferred tension and when you cut it. I demoed a friends ZFII which I strung with BG65 TI @26lbs PS and I loved it. I think BG80 is a good choice for anything up to 28lbs. For anything higher I would use BG80Power, NBG99 or BG65TI. If you can afford a restring every week go for BG66 UM. The best performance but only for a few days before it losts its crispiness and feels dull.

I use NBG99 @ 30lbs on my ZF2. I like it the best but it really depends on how you play and preference.

As I've stated above, I'm an offensive power player, who likes to go for the smash or offensive shots majority of the time. I am looking for a string that is suited for this and can retain tension as well as have a nice sound.

Was in your same shoes 3 months ago when I first got my VZF2. 3U Racket and offensive plyer. Tried BG 66 and NBG99 both at 26lbs and didn't like either. Ended up going back to my favorite string BG80 at 26lbs, loving it.

    Hi,
I'm in same dilema. I got 4U version. I play with Ashaway strings.
So I got ZM 65 , ZM 62fire, and can order anything, money is not problem. I usualy string 12,5 kg so 27,5 lbs.
So repulsion and control should be on opposite sides. How come Yonex bg66 UM is max repulsion and max control by Yonex? What is the secret here? Does that story begins with higher tension ?
And should I be afraid to string ZM62F with 12,5 kg regarding grommets and frame alone?
I now got zm66(control not power version of string) but wondering can I go better than that? I want best of 2 world, powerful smash when I need him and good control of net shots, so when I want tight shot near net i dont want repulsion to kick in and to send shuttle not near net. How to achive that? And also I dont want my clears to go 3 meters out because of crazy repultion.

    thanks !

Regardless which ZM you choose you will never clear 3m out. I'm not a fan of Zymax strings but found ZM62 1gen. and ZM65 2.gen really good. If money isn't an issue you can try all and decide for your own. I only demoed the Fire strings from my customers rackets but they reported that they don't last as long as their Yonex choice which I can confirm with my recordings about my customers. Tbh they all chosen a tension in the high 20's/low 30's.

I suggest you to consider BG80 Power White or Nanogy 95 white.

Tnx for answer. Hmm... Now regarding tungsten grommets, ZF2, thin string like ZM 62 eating throught them and fact gromets are hard to find. Should I be worried for stringin tensions arround 28 lbs?

With 28lbs your stringer should change some grommets regular. FME The Tungsten Area of the ZFII is really sturdy and I strung the same ZFII a douzen time with them without any issues to change them. Other grommets I replaced. ZM62 2gen isn't such a thin string like it's called. One guy here measured the diameter strung and unstrung and it was never under .66 if I remember correctly. You can order the grommets from mbs. Even the tungsten parts. Don't worry about that.:)
