Which shot would you like to learn the most not in your present range of shots? For me it would be a doubles defensive shot. Standing on the right hand side of the court receiving a smash to my backhand and casually flicking it across to the other side of the court over the opposing front player. It would help my counterattacking style.
The late deceptive straight lift from Lin Dan on his forehand side. I don't know, kinda looks like a topspin shot...
Tight spinning net shot. The simple net shot is no longer good enough as opponents are putting away all my net shots.
If this is a wishlist of shots... there are just too many for me. LOL I can pretty much play most of the shots that I want, but I think I could do them a lot better. My biggest difficulty is in deception, my shots are just too 'honest'. Being greedy, I would say the two shots I would like to have in my arsenal are these two PG shots: 1. Double take lift (BH & FH). 2. In to out low serve return. I know he has videos of these on youtube but I just can't get them right - more of a mental thing than physical I think.
LYD does it on both the BH side and FH side - which is remarkable enough, but he does it consistently as well, making him probably the most annoying player to smash to!
I'm sure we can help you with that, probably just needs a few tweaks in your technique. Why not post a video of you playing this shot?
Me? I really don't want reading in the news headlining "some BC members die laughing after watching an over the hill guy trying yo hit a back hand clear". How about you post a video of you doing the backhand cross court clear and I can pick up a tip or two to help my game.
300km/h smash Seriously though. The backhand drive off your non racquet shoulder that looks to go to far backhand corner but you take it late and it goes short forehand. Seen Lyd, ma Jin, bao xl all do it I think.
Well, if you prefer to watch and learn from others, what could be better than watching videos of pros playing the shot. I can BH clear from one diag corner to the other, but my technique is not perfect by any means, so best to learn from those with perfect technique if you want to learn.
