We all take a certain satisfaction in playing a winner shot and all regard some winner shot more than other . It can be like a backhand cross court drop in a difficult situation or down the line smash with the list going on such as deceptive lift which lets the opponent stranded or deceptive drop or a taufik special backhand smash or LD's special overhead quick full kill smash . It can be anything like running your opponent tired and they simply surrender . Which one do you like most or take deepest satisfaction if executed??. For me it is backhand cross court winning drop in a difficult position .
Recently I quite enjoyed an attempted leaping brush net kill (doubles, forehand corner). When I realised at the last possible moment the net shot was too tight (well, too tight for me in that particular position), I changed it to a cross-court net shot instead. I didn't know my fingers were that quick. Or my brain, for that matter. The other one recently was a perfect cross-court forehand topspin "push" smash defence. The smash was pretty weak, but what the hell. I got a nice swerve on that one. It makes a change from my usual soggy shots, anyway.
My favorite winner shot is the reverse slice cross drop from the backhand corner (overhead); especially if the opponent doesn't even move, instead of getting there late.
since im not able to produce such high quality shots one thing that comes to my mind right now: when the opponent lets the shuttle fall after 2-4 clears and the shuttle lands 2cm inside both the backtram and the sideline because its a good sign that im really into it and found the length and accuracy
I like your style visor, but i prefer the follow up smash to the body on retreating opponent managed to tag a guy in the shoulder on the baseline yesterday. Felt good! Basically any big smash to win. Flick serve ace a close second
Agree with this. But my most satisfying winning shot ever was a behind-the-back cross-court block of a half-court smash. Sure it was pure luck and only a social game, but it did get applause from my opponents.
Once I blocked a smash from small lift which was merely reaching service line just because my racket was in the line of shuttle . others thought it was deliberate and the whole club was clapping . LOL
For me it's my round the head smash. Opponents always think they're getting one up by hitting deep into my backhand, and then bam, a smash to tramlines from round the head.
Overhead smash or drop. Because I can't control where the shuttle will land yet. Force opponents to go on the defensive so I can go on the offensive... Another one is the attacking lift to empty corners if the court is not well covered and I'm threatened in front. Last one is cross court drops.
Behind the head cross court block of opponent's drive in a doubles game. It's similar to the round the head drive. I've yet to be able to perform any behind the back between the legs blocks or turnaround underarm fore/backhand clear (Lin Dan style) or other fancy trick shots... I don't know if people above talked about a backhand cross court drop from forehand side of court, or how that shot would look.
You mean something like that?
