Anyone tried it? How is it compared to Wave Fang RV or Wave Fang Pro?

I look forward for this model :D

Mizuno introduces new outsole design, which seems to provide lateral protection, starting this year.

I was told to buy 1 size bigger than my usual size, i.e., Yonex / Victor 43 --> Mizuno 44.

However, this model has yet to arrive in JPN's retailers, and it seems would be available sometimes around 1st/2nd week of January 2015.

I find Wave Fang RX to fit like a glove, offering a supportive, secure ride right from the first wear. It does not require any break in and can go from the box to the court directly. It wrap my feet so well that I felt comfortably and completely locked in. On court it felt like the shoes were moving with my feet, almost like we are one. I have no complaints at all in terms of supports provided by Wave Fang RX

Please note that Wave Fang RX has a slightly narrow toe box, therefore it would be advisable to opt for 1 size bigger for people with longer toes. Further, it is a little to wide (medium width) for me as I have a narrow feet.

    IMHO :D

Japanese players sometimes wear Mizuno but sometimes Yonex.

Do they have contracts with both companies?

Thank you and a better luck is welcome :) Budget is low and RX is sill a hope now. My non professional review of XT2 is it is very fitting, grippy, light, and good built quality. Heel support is good but this can be subjected because I am light. Overall, no major complaint.

Thanks Clawhammers! You guys are always good with the postings. Also, don't have my size though. I would love to email Mizuno USA or Canada to get some of these products. They don't carry any mens indoor court shoe smaller than 8 in Canada!

So, I actually did order from Rakuten but I got last year's model @$55 and $80 US. It turned out to be $100 and $135 Cdn including shipping. Duties might be on top if I get taxed(!)

how is the cushioning of the shoes? is it comparable to yonex power cushioning? since i notice the wave technology is not present in this model compared to the mizuno wave tornado model. i'm really interested in try the wave fang rx but I have an achilles tendon issue which need ample cushioning on the heel.

The Wave plate is the yellow part at the heel of the shoe. It is not exposed to the outsole like a lot of Mizuno shoes. These shoes are called "Mild Cushion" and that's exactly what they are. I would say that they are more like Yonex F1 type. Very fast, light, with excellent grip - not a lot of cushioning, especially in the forefoot. The rear has no exposed hole between the Wave which helps soften landings in some of their other shoes. If I were competing, I would call it a "Tornament Day" shoe.

    I second to his opinion.

However, if you have Achilles tendon issue, it would be advisable for you to opt for other model that provides better cushion.

Alternatively, if you are very fond for this model, then it might be better to seek for a thicker insole replacement.

    For example, Mizuno 5mm Insole 6ZK380 / マイルドクッションプラスインソール - 5mm厚

    IMHO :)

thank you for the reply and suggestions dolbydog and clawhammers! i am very fond of the model so I might try the mizuno insole when i do end up ordering the shoes :)

im finally trying badminton shoes as i've been wearing basketball (kobe 8 low tops) shoes so far. I suspect it could be the cause. I normally play doubles in them without any issue but i started feeling the pain ever since I started playing singles.

Just received mine today.. i wear size 10 victor (8500 & 9000ace) which is 28cm. My wave fang rx is size 9.5 or 27.5cm (to minimize blisters). My victor has a toe clearance of 2cm so i was expecting a 1.5cm clearance on my wave fang but it turns out to be just 1.0cm to 10.2cm. It could be the foam at the side and back of my heel are still fresh and thick.
By the way, i wore a thick socks when i tried it on.
