I have AT900P 4U with 25lb tension. I find that this racket is too stiff for me. I can generate more power with other rackets at the same 25lb tension.

Can I lower my AT900P's string tension to get more power?

Then change the tension and tell us the result.

Well it is a 4U a slight difference in power, I suggest lowering to 23 lbs? And try that since it's easier to generate power.

Lowering the tension will help but whether it helps enough, only you can decide once you hit with it.

Lower string tension means more power by the trampoline effect, if you need help generating power. Is the power change THAT much different, though?

Please kindly provide brand and model of string that u are using.

You may wish try Yonex BG80 power. High repulsion and may help generate more power.

I have NG 95, this string is so well made. They hardly loose tension and break.

My Lethal 90 has bg80 at 25lb- more power-more control than my AT900

Certainly try a lower tension. However, it is not going to be that easy to compensate for as you have an inherent characteristic of the racquet.

Your options are (if changing the strings doesn't suit you):

    Change racquet.

Keep the racquet but not use it and try it again another year.

My advice is to change the racquet.

Good idea, alter the swing to suit the racket.

When you say that you can get more power with other rackets at the same tension, does that mean that it is the same string too? It's important to make sure that it's the racket making the difference, rather than other factors.

yes, but it's a probability. in theory, lowering the string tension can generate more power.

But I think the problem is the racket that is too light. that's why the power isn't so good. a 3U maybe is better

it's not too stiff. Stiffer rackets in theory should generate more power than flexible ones. Maybe your stroke uses the flexibility to generate more power. try to change your stroke. Maybe you should try to have a more follow through when hitting the shuttle.

Train your wrist and try to do a more compact and explosive hitting technique. (the perfect hitting timing changes with shaft stiffens + sting tension ----> so play 5 min full cord clears until it will get effortless to clear; than you have the right timing for the new stiffness)

Cant help but think...shouldnt the OP change to a less stiff racket...?

Adjusting to a lower string tension wouldnt affect the shaft stiffness in play by much...
