Actually yonex took it to another level by combining the colors in the new jersey It's the 'real' colors of minions Look how bwf approved, so it's legalized now
Like or Dont like them, People actually cared if they loss otherwise the thread wouldnt have added 8 pages. I dont think people care say, if Berry/Hardianto keeps losing because people basically have given up on them. There is obviously nothing to talk about BenTo. Which means we really dont need to be so consequential. The coach need not be as well, they are still WR1 , I hope they dont do what LeeYongDae did and retire as WR1 after the botched Olympic campaign. If he has seen it and knew it , he wouldnt have quit. Not when he is WR1 and only 28 at that time. If he didnt quit, he will obviously still be top 4 players today (that at the very least) Just look at Hendra at 35, there is still so much to achieve. I'd classify LYD decision as a waste, not the Olympic itself. I hope Minions learn from that. For a moment, after the Olympic, just forget what they have achieved or not achieved.
I think Choi/Seo should be proud of themselves that they are able to beat the minions, they are more well known now compared to 2 days ago haha. Its like a lower ranked player able to beat Federer/Djokovic, such is the star power of the minions now in the badminton world.
They should be proud because of their win. It wasn't just a hard match for minions, but for them too. Morten said in the early game, if you have to play against the better seed then the best time to do it is in the first match, before everyone's settling in. And they proved Morten right
A bye is more of an advantage, I think. After knowing their h2h, I was kinda afraid when minions had to play Korean in their first match. Beside more prone to unsettling condition, minions tend to be struggling against the pairs they had not met before
unlucky for marvin they have to face dirty tactics pair in the first round korean pair should be proud their dirty tactics work against marvin
A bye is never an advantage to minions. They almost always struggle in their first match of tournament. Kevin more error prone in drift halls, Marcus depends on his form of the day. Marcus has been struggling almost all year but doing better in faster halls. Tough luck. And all opponents have the advantage of being underdog.
But the scenario would be more or less the same, if they didn't get a bye & still had to play Korean with 0:0 h2h in their first match, I guess. What about the drift in Basel? I don't know how bad it was. But I heard the drift at Indonesian open last time was really bad
I guess some people just don't want to accept it that gideon IS the weak link, instead blaming kevin for the errors
Not really it could have been another pair. Seeds get byes either to reduce number of matches per tournament or not enough participants(?). Because only MS get to play 6 matches regardless their ranks.
But I don't understand why with these needs to blame one side? Of course, Gideon's the weaker link of the pair, based on their performance these whole years. I said 'weaker' because kevin's almost undoubtedly the strongest one. Unless you critize in a way to give them encouragement, I guess there's no point in blaming one of the sides. If anything, it'd make them even more down. And if you're not brave enough to tell them directly what they need to improve, you can write the coach, Herry IP. He'll hear what fans have to say. But respect that he also has his ways to handle things. At least that's what we can do, rather than blaming (even worse bullying) one side, in this case often Gideon.
Yes. But on rare occasions he could be unexpectedly effective with his attacks like in HKO final last year for an instance. Or in JO but I heard it was faster than IO?
