Anmol reached main draw but her first opponent is Malvika Bansod, the top seed.

Everyone has studied Anmol's BATC videos and will come well prepared, should be a good test. I watched her play she lost a lot of points to drops in the front court from the back court in game 1. She will need to learn to read this quickly as she plays better players.

Anmol Kharb knocks out Malvika Bansod in 2 games 21-13, 22-20. Anmol was in control of game 1. In game 2 Anmol made many unforced errors
trailing 5-10, drawing level 10-10. Leading 16-12 then errors and 19-19. It was good she finished in 2 but against better players will need to focus better.

She defeated Malvika in straight games. But One thing for sure. She is s stroke player. She never uses net and she simply pushes the shuttle away from the net . She has to learn so much.
On the other hand, for Malvika, if she faces an opponent who is fast and a stroke player, she should not engage them in rallies instead she should attack more. No attack whatsoever.

Anmol had an easy 2 game match against Nurani a player from UAE. Anupama had the toughest R16 match among Indian WS, a Czech player Tereza who had earlier knocked out Ira Sharma in 2 games. Anupama needed 3 games to beat Tereza. Anupama and Devika Sihag face off in QF, both Anupama and Devika played without a coach. Anmol looks to the coach after every single point, I would like her trust her abilities.

Isharani and Tanya face off in the QF in the bottom half. Indian WS take 5/8 QF spots.

    BAI announces Thomas/Uber Indian Teams.
One change in mens team from before. Sai Prateek replaces Pruthvi.

Women's team has major changes and only 8 players selected.
PV Sindhu, and top WD pairs rested. Tanisha/Ashwini and Treesa/Gayatri not in team. Simran Singhi/ Ritika Thaker selected.
Isharani Baruah selected. 4 WS and 4 WD
Does not make any sense why top WD pairs are rested since only 1 pair will make the Olympics. They are not even top medal contenders like Satwik/Chirag to be protected. Is Gopichand playing spoilt sport?

Yep, doesn’t make any sense. Most likely, Treesa/Gayatri will miss out on Olympics representation. In that case, they should focus producing good results in elite tournaments like this. If BAI wants to popularize the sport in India, they should start prioritizing these team tournaments.

Two change. Pruthvi's replacement and Chirag Sen's replacement as well. Priyanshu and Kiran's inclusion. Isharani Barua's inclusion is a surprise for me.

Satwik/Chirag withdraw from BAC. Satwik's shoulder injury has flared up again. HS Prannoy is not fully fit. India's Thomas cup defence is now a question mark. Looks difficult for Thomas team to go beyond QF or SF.

WD pairs and Sindhu opted out on their own. Group stage exit looks certain, it would be an achievement for Uber team to make QF.

Anmol lost in the quarters of kazhak international challenge to japanese player who is really fast and retrieving everything. Anmol's father could not do anything as he is not a coach. Here she needed a coach , as she did not change her strategy in the 3rd game , played the same way and succumbed . It's a valuable experience which she need to work on. Now, she might feel the heat. Sindhu won bronze at world championships at the age of 17. Imagine.

Anmol started poorly unable to return drops in the front court. Game 2 she played like BATC and game 3 she lost her way. Not expecting much from her at the Uber Cup. Anupama had a tough 3 game match with Devika and scraped through. Isharani also needed 3 games against Tanya. All of these players are better than Ashmita in consistency and tactical play.

Anupama Upadhaya beats the Japanese Sorano Yoshikawa in 2 games and enters the final. Anupama likes to play endless rallies like Sindhu in her younger days. Anupama has a good attack but rarely uses it. She can improve her success rate once she learns to attack more.

Isharani Baruah wins a 3 game thriller against Hong Kong player Lo Sin Yan Happy [3] and makes it an all Indian WS Final! She used to be a mixed doubles player. She made the switch to singles a year ago as her doubles career was not improving. She has a good attack and among the few who can jump smash from the back court. She needs experience and time on the circuit can only get better.

Saw Isharani's 3rd game. She was trailing till the end and was down 16-20 and thought of not watching it further. She won it at the end. Yeah. She jump smashes even at the end of the 3rd game. She is a mini bomb. Small stature and moves quickly around the court.

Anupama beats Isharani in 2 games and wins the Kazakhstan IC Title. Isharani made too many errors and had an off day.

Anupama, Isharani, Tanya, Unnati and Devika have consistently made the finals in IC and IS tournaments. After a year we have to see how Anmol and Tanvi perform on the circuit. These players will help raise the standard and competition and other players will also rise. Indian WS continues to slowly make progress.

I want to give respect to you and @badmuse for consistently watching lower level tournaments and caring about Indian badminton. We need more fans like you and him.

She is leading women's team for Uber Cup as Sindhu withdrew. Ashmitha is the one who has to lead all other juniors . So, must have decided to train harder !?
