After a bit of unforeseen issue with the fixed clamp and some holiday events. Now the machine is back in business with new gripper.

It does make the process smoother. But most importantly, the stringer-in-chief at home says she likes it. :D

I've string maybe 10 rackets since. It makes the wise feels more like a high end machine. Solid and smooth operation.

The first one has that "auto raise" function once tension is applied. Best see the video on the product page. It's a gimmick, but given the prices are the same, I'd go for that one if I had to choose.

Personally, I think that any button-release clamp bases are a must. Forget the semi-automatic release function when the clamp drops down - I haven't heard of anybode actually using this feature. It's that clearly defined locking and unlocking feel that makes the actual difference and imo clearly is worth the extra money.

Your photo has the Wise under tension. After clamping, press the button at the end and the gripper will release and return to start position. Video would help if i misunderstood your question.

I think the gripper needs some maintenance (lubrification)
Seems like the gripper isn't actually under tension (it's all the way back to its idle position)
