CL must be given chance for team contribution, against IND is a good opportunity for frankly speaking IND team overall is rather weak so the pressure is low, risk is small in case an upset does happen :) I think LD will be fielded in SF (or again CL in SF for LD is reserved for the Final!? It's also one scenario.. for any of them should not face any problem in dealing with the Japanese).

No doubt Chen Long should've no problem beating the JPN MS whoever he may be, but Lin Dan having too much rest since playing his only match last Sunday, R1 against Hu Yun, means he's not warmed up enough and lacking in momentum going to the final. It's best for him to play himself fully into form for the all-important championship match by playing the semifinals so as to get his engine well-oiled and in tip-top condition, so to speak, in preparation for the presumably stronger opposition on Final's Day.

Yeah, there is a virtue to warm up the engine not to prolong the idle time... and if KOR succeeds to advance into final, Son Wan Ho won't be an easy opponent to deal with... he's the kind of "buffalo" athlete, with admirable relentless fighting spirit. The strategists within the Chinese team better to think and act rightly! Anyhow one step at a time,,,, full focus should be pinpointed to the Japanese team!

The order of play with no player plays twice

    1. MD: CHN - Fu/Zhang
    2. WS: 55/45 for JPN - HBJ or CYF (No SY)
    3. MS: CHN - LD
    4. WD: 55/45 for JPN... wonder which pair CHN will field, few options
    5. XD: CHN - Lu/Huang

Probably a repaint, because as we all know, Lin Dan is not too fond of changing rackets frequently.

    HIS PERFORMANCE IS GOING UP

BUT HIS RANKING IS GOING DOWN

Watch how Badminton's New Sensation Lin Dan has jumped from 5th to lowly 9th in matter of weeks despite having his last 6 results as Semi final,Champ,Champ,Semi Final.Final and Final.

Ranking does not mirror performance, right?
    Chen Long is 12th.

That's because he took a 4-month break post-Rio and only have 8 tournament results counted, minus the Sudirman Cup which will only be included this Thursday. And two weeks later when he played the INA Open PSS, all the points accrued will be added in as well.

I just wonder what mood he'd be in at the INA Open, esp after the Sudirman Cup's cheerless outcome. Also hope he doesn't unwind a bit too much this two weeks.

As can be seen, Chen Long only has 7 tournaments counting to it while Lin Dan has 8. So in a sense you're right , and I'd include LCW if his ranking drops due to playing fewer than 10 tournaments in the last 12 months.

But in another sense, irrespective of the world rankings of the Super Trio, we know where these three great maestros really stand in the pro circuit.

Lin Dan is badminton's sole representative in the list and China's 2nd entry behind Long Ma.
